Los experimentos de absorción óptica, de emisión y de excitación se realizaron a temperatura ambiente en el intervalo de 300 a 1000 nm. Se identifica y discute la existencia de un proceso de transferencia de energía radiativa entre la red &#8594; Er3+ y las características de termo-ópticas bajo la condición resonante a la absorción del ion Er3+, para diferentes concentraciones de erbio. Se observo el efecto de Lente Térmica, misma que fue analizada en términos de un modelo teórico sencillo que permite explicar los resultados experimentales.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[We present a study of the optical properties of glass matrices with Erbium trivalent impurities, which were synthesized by Sol-Gel technology. The experiments of optical absorption, emission and excitation were carried out at room temperature between range 300 to 1000 nm. It identifies and discusses the existence of a of radiative energy transfer process between the network and the Er3+ ions. It also presents the characteristics of thermo-optic on condition of resonant absorption of the ion Er3+, for different concentrations of Erbium. The effect of Thermal Lens noticed is discussed in terms of theoretical model.]]></p></abstract>

<body><![CDATA[<p align="justify"><font face="verdana" size="2">&nbsp;</font></p>  	    <p align="justify"><font face="verdana" size="2"><b>Resumen</b></font></p>  	    <p align="justify"><font face="verdana" size="2">Se presenta un estudio de las propiedades &oacute;pticas de matrices v&iacute;treas con impurezas de erbio trivalente, que fueron sintetizadas mediante la t&eacute;cnica sol&#45;gel. Los experimentos de absorci&oacute;n &oacute;ptica, de emisi&oacute;n y de excitaci&oacute;n se realizaron a temperatura ambiente en el intervalo de 300 a 1000 nm. Se identifica y discute la existencia de un proceso de transferencia de energ&iacute;a radiativa entre la red &#8594; Er3+ y las caracter&iacute;sticas de termo&#45;&oacute;pticas bajo la condici&oacute;n resonante a la absorci&oacute;n del ion Er3+, para diferentes concentraciones de erbio.
