En el estudio empírico participaron investigadores de 51 universidades acreditadas de Colombia. La investigación utilizó un enfoque cuantitativo, con un alcance explicativo a través del modelado de ecuaciones estructurales por covarianzas, a través del cual se comprueba la hipótesis planteada. Los resultados muestran que en el modelo de innovación universitario propuesto, los cuatro factores integrados (liderazgo estratégico, soporte administrativo, estructura universitaria y participación académica) en la variable organización para el involucramiento influyen de manera positiva tanto en el involucramiento regional como en la vinculación empresarial. El estudio puede servir de base para futuras investigaciones que incluyan a universidades no acreditadas e instituciones de carácter técnica o tecnológica.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This paper explores the influence of university organization on achievements from business outreach and regional involvement with the aim of providing insight into the effective relationship that should exist between universities and society. This empirical study was carried out with the participation of researchers from 51 accredited universities in Colombia. The research was explanatory in scope and followed a quantitative approach that used covariance-based structural equation modeling (CB-SEM) to test the hypothesis. The results show that in the proposed university innovation model, the four factors in the university organization variable (strategic leadership, administrative support, university structure, and academic participation) have a positive effect on both regional involvement and business outreach. This study may serve as a basis for future research that includes unaccredited universities and technical or technological institutes.]]></p></abstract>
