<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S1405-27682025000100141&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S1405-27682025000100141&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S1405-27682025000100141&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen El objetivo de este trabajo fue evaluar la germinación de las semillas del arbusto forrajero nativo Coursetia glandulosa sembradas en diferentes condiciones de terreno degradado y como control en suelo agrícola con riego por goteo en Hermosillo, Sonora, México, además de evaluar la sobrevivencia, y crecimiento de plántulas después del primer año post germinación. Se sembraron 100 semillas en cada parche de suelo degradado con 4 tratamientos: suelo desnudo, suelo desnudo + ramas de poda, bajo árbol y con malla plástica protectora. Los tratamientos en campo estuvieron a expensas de las precipitaciones. Las semillas del tratamiento control, en ecosistema agrícola, tuvieron riego por goteo. Los resultados a un año post germinación, muestran que la mayor germinación fue en el tratamiento control con riego y de los parches de suelo desnudo con protección de malla (44% y 40% de germinación respectivamente, &#967;² = 76.34, p = 0.0032). La supervivencia al año fue mayor en el ecosistema agrícola con 86.36 % (&#967;² = 41.02, p = 0.0001) seguida de 50% en el suelo desnudo protegido con malla y 20 % en el suelo desnudo cubierto con ramas, no se tuvo sobrevivencia al año de las plantas que nacieron bajo árbol y en suelo desnudo. El crecimiento de las plantas tanto en altura como en el ancho del dosel foliar fue mayor en el tratamiento control bajo riego, superando al año a los 150 cm y 145 cm respectivamente (p &lt; 0.0001). Mientras que en el ecosistema degradado tanto con malla como con ramas los crecimientos fueron inferiores a los 42 cm de alto y 10 cm de ancho. El establecimiento de C. glandulosa en terrenos degradados áridos del noroeste de México, está muy por debajo de su potencial, limitado por la disponibilidad de agua en el suelo y la herbivoría.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The objective of this work was to evaluate the germination of seeds of the native forage shrub Coursetia glandulosa planted in different conditions of degraded soil and as a control in agricultural soil with drip irrigation in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, in addition to evaluating the survival and growth of seedlings after the first year post germination. 100 seeds were planted in each patch of degraded soil with 4 treatments: bare soil, bare soil + pruning branches, under a tree and with a protective plastic mesh. The treatments in the field were dependent on rainfall. The seeds of the control treatment, in an agricultural ecosystem, were drip irrigated. The results one year after germination show that the highest germination was in the control treatment with irrigation and in the bare soil patches with mesh protection (44% and 40% germination respectively, &#967;² = 76.34, p = 0.0032). Survival at one year was higher in the agricultural ecosystem with 86.36 % (&#967;² = 41.02, p = 0.0001) followed by 50% in the bare soil protected with mesh and 20 % in the bare soil covered with branches. There was no survival at one year of the plants that were born under a tree and on bare soil. Plant growth in both height and width of the leaf canopy was higher in the control treatment under irrigation, exceeding 150 cm and 145 cm respectively at one year (p &lt; 0.0001). While in the degraded ecosystem with both mesh and branches, growth was less than 42 cm high and 10 cm wide. The establishment of C. glandulosa in arid degraded lands of northwestern Mexico is well below its potential, limited by the availability of water in the soil and herbivory.]]></p></abstract>
