La selva inundable de Bravaisia integerrima ha estado sujeta a procesos de cambio de uso de suelo que la colocan al borde de la extinción. El objetivo del presente estudio fue conocer el grado de diversidad arbórea de un relicto de 22 ha de Bravaisia integerrima, bajo la hipótesis de que sería alto. Se muestreó una superficie de 0,8 ha distribuida en cuatro unidades de muestreo (UM), en las que se midió la riqueza (S), índice de Shannon-Wiener (H&#8217;), diversidad máxima (H&#8217; máx.), equidad (E), índice de valor de importancia (IVI) e índice de similitud (So) para individuos &gt; 2.5 cm de diámetro a la altura del pecho (DAP). La heterogeneidad de estos parámetros entre las cuatro UM se midió como el valor máximo - valor mínimo, expresado en porcentaje del valor máximo, donde un valor mayor a 0 significa existencia de heterogeneidad. El relicto presentó 58 especies arbóreas, 33 m de altura máxima de especímenes e individuos con DAP máximo mayor a 47,5 cm. Las UM sí presentaron heterogeneidad en su riqueza (26.5%), H&#8217; máx. (10%), E (17%) e IVI máximo (64.4%). El valor máximo de heterogeneidad fue 93,7% (Tabernaemontana alba). El So entre las UM varió de 0,67 a 0,76. Considerando que se presentaron valores de heterogeneidad mayores a 0 para cuatro atributos de diversidad (hasta 93,7%), se concluye que, a pesar de su tamaño reducido, el fragmento de selva inundable presenta una diversidad arbórea de importancia para su conservación.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Tree diversity in fragments of tropical forests constitutes an important characteristic owing to maintenance of the original forest tree diversity. The Bravaisia integerrima floodplain forest has been subject to strong land use change processes over time that has placed it almost on the brink of extinction. The aim was to analyze the degree of tree-diversity heterogeneity of a 22 ha Bravaisia integerrima relict, with the main hypothesis that such heterogeneity is high. Species richness (S), Shannon-Wiener index (H&#8217;), maximum diversity (H&#8217; max.), evenness (E), importance value index (IVI) and similarity index (So) for trees &gt; 2.5 cm of diameter at breast height (DBH) were measured in 0.8 ha distributed in four sampling units (UM). The heterogeneity of these parameters among the four UM was measured by maximum value - minimum value, expressed as a percentage of the maximum value, where a value &gt; 0 means existence of heterogeneity. The relict had 58 tree species, maximum height of 33 m and maximum tree&#8217;s DBH &gt; 47,5 cm. An heterogeneity among the UM was present for richness (26,5%), H&#8217; max. (10%), E (17%) and a maximum IVI (64,4%). Maximum heterogeneity value was 93% (Tabernaemontana alba). The So value among UMs varied from 0,67 to 0,76. Considering that four diversity parameters had heterogeneity values &gt; 0 (up to 93,7%) it is concluded that even with its small size, this floodplain forest presents a tree-diversity heterogeneity of relevance for its conservation.]]></p></abstract>
