El presente estudio se ha enfocado en evaluar el impacto de las inundaciones fluviales del arroyo Las Liebres a través de una metodología que acopla un modelado hidráulico, un modelo hidrológico y la proyección de eventos extremos de precipitación para diferentes periodos de retorno, usando el análisis de frecuencias con parámetros estacionarios y no estacionarios. Los resultados proyectan eventos máximos de precipitación de hasta 110 mm con un periodo de retorno de 100 años, generando un caudal de aproximadamente 80 m³/s e inundando el 13.2% del área urbana de la cuenca. Estas inundaciones afectan la movilidad, las infraestructuras críticas, el acceso a servicios básicos y la capacidad de respuesta ante emergencias.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  Floods are the deadliest natural hazards worldwide, causing the most extensive damage every year. This study focuses on evaluating the impact of riverine floods from Las Liebres stream through a methodology that combines hydraulic modeling, hydrological modeling, and the projection of extreme precipitation events for different return periods, employing a frequency analysis with stationary and non-stationary parameters. The results project maximum precipitation events of up to 110 mm with a return period of 100 years, generating a flow rate of approximately 80 m³/s and flooding 13.2% of the urban area of the basin. These floods affect mobility, critical infrastructure, access to basic services, and emergency response capacity.]]></p></abstract>
