Guanajuato, de acuerdo con este indicador, presenta un rezago respecto de la media nacional que a su vez presenta un rezago respecto a los países desarrollados. Sin embargo, los jóvenes están alcanzando niveles educativos relativamente elevados mientras que el indicador se ve lastrado por el bajo nivel educativo de las generaciones mayores, notorio en especial en los municipios de alta ruralidad. Ruralidad que para las generaciones que actualmente se encuentran cursando estudios no es relevante excepto para los estudios de grado y postgrado.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The main indicator to assess education at an international level is the population&#8217;s average number of years of education. According to this indicator, Guanajuato presents a gap with respect to the national average, which in turn presents a lag compared to developed countries. Young generations, however, are reaching relatively high educational levels, while the indicator is hindered by the low educational level of older generations, especially in rural municipalities. Rurality does not affect the education of young generations, except for undergraduate and postgraduate studies.]]></p></abstract>
