Por otro lado, el injerto en este cultivo puede aumentar la producción hortícola- dado a su vigorosidad radicular y su capacidad exploratoria. Se estableció un experimento en invernadero de baja tecnología, ubicado en las instalaciones de la Universidad Autónoma Agraria Antonio Narro. En el periodo de primavera-verano, bajo un diseño completamente aleatorizado con arreglo factorial 2 × 2 × 2 obteniéndose ocho tratamientos. El objetivo fue evaluar el efecto del punto de anclaje (suelo y sustrato), injerto (con y sin injerto) y volumen de riego (100% y 75%). Se analizaron las variables de crecimiento del cultivo (altura de planta, diámetro basal, número de hojas), variables de rendimiento (diámetro polar y ecuatorial, número de frutos y rendimiento), conductancia estomática y biomasa del cultivo. Los resultados mostraron un aumento de 22.9 % en las variables de crecimiento y 56% en biomasa con el injerto cultivado en sustrato, lo que permite ahorro de energía de la planta y una tendencia a ser más eficiente en el uso del agua. Lo cual indica que el injerto es una herramienta benéfica para mejorar los rendimientos, además de ser una tecnología amigable con el ambiente.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Summary: The cucumber crop is affected by the volume of water supplied, which can decrease the architecture of the plant as well as the yield. Grafting can increase horticultural production due to its root vigor and explorative capacity. Therefore, a low-tech greenhouse experiment was set up at the facilities of the Universidad Autónoma Agraria Antonio Narro. In the spring-summer period, under a completely randomized design with a 2 x 2 x 2 factorial arrangement, obtaining eight treatments. The objective was to evaluate the effect of anchorage point (soil and substrate), grafting (with and without grafting) and irrigation volume (100% and 75%). Crop growth variables (plant height, basal diameter, number of leaves), yield variables (polar and equatorial diameter, number of fruits and yield), stomatal conductance and crop biomass were analyzed. The results showed an increase of 22.9% in growth and 56 % biomass variables with the graft grown on substrate, allowing plant energy savings and a tendency to be more efficient in water use. This indicates that grafting is a beneficial tool for improving yields, as well as being an environmentally friendly technology.]]></p></abstract>
