La Educación Estadística ha mantenido un sostenido crecimiento en la publicación de artículos de revistas, libros y comunicaciones en eventos académicos a nivel mundial y Latinoamericano. No obstante, no se localizaron trabajos que describan cómo es esa producción científica en América Latina. Por ello, en este estudio se analizaron 210 artículos publica-dos por autores latinoamericanos en revistas de distintos países durante el periodo 2016-2021. Se hizo un análisis de contenido a partir de la lectura de los artículos, para categorizarlos según número de autores, institución de afirmación, país, tipo de artículo, metodología, referentes teóricos y temas abordados. Los resultados indican que la mayoría de los artículos son estudios empíricos, escritos por uno o dos autores, usando metodología cualitativa y apoyados por diversos referentes teóricos; aunque los más usados están vinculados a la alfabetización, el razonamiento o el pensamiento estadístico. Se concluye que la Educación Estadística en Latinoamérica avanza para crear un espacio con características propias.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: The objective of this work is to characterize the scientific production in Statistical Education in Latin America, based on a sample of articles published. Statistical Education has maintained a sustained growth in the publication of journal articles, books and communications in academic events worldwide and in Latin America. However, no papers were located that describe what this scientific production is like in Latin America. Therefore, this study analyzed 210 articles published by Latin American authors in journals from different countries during the period 2016 - 2021. A content analysis was made from reading the articles to categorize them according to the number of authors, the institution of affirmation, country, type of article, methodology, theoretical references, and topics addressed. The results indicate that most of the articles are empirical studies, written by one or two authors, using qualitative methodology, and supported by various theoretical references; although the most used are linked to literacy, reasoning, or statistical thinking. It is concluded that Statistical Education in Latin America is moving forward to create a space with its own characteristics.]]></p></abstract>
