El presente estudio es una revisión sistemática cualitativa cuyo objetivo es identificar la evolución de la definición, objetivos y métodos de estudio, así como también población, instrumentos, teorías y lugares donde se han llevado a cabo investigaciones de IO, estructurando etapas a través de una línea del tiempo. El método incluye las siete fases para elaborar revisiones sistemáticas. Los resultados describen tres etapas: institucionalización (1969-1980), era tecnológica (1980-2008) y enfoque al desempeño (2009-2016). Los hallazgos de cada etapa describen los cambios definidos en el objetivo, destacando solo estudios cualitativos en la primera etapa y en las posteriores, cuantitativos. Las limitaciones del estudio se derivan de los criterios de exclusión definidos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The decision-making in organizations is the central point for their success or failure and in this sense they are always in search of competitive advantages that help them meet the success of their objectives and the use of organizational intelligence (IO) allows them to analyze the information they have both internally and externally. The present study is a qualitative systematic review whose objective is to identify the evolution of the definition, objectives and methods of study, population, instruments, theories and places where OI investigations have been carried out, structuring the stages through a timeline. The method includes the seven phases to develop systematic reviews. The results describe three stages: institutionalization (1969-1980), technological era (1980-2008) and performance focus (2009-2016). The findings of each stage describe the changes defined in the objective, highlighting only qualitative studies in the first stage and in the later ones, quantitative. The limitations of the study are derived from the defined exclusion criteria.]]></p></abstract>
