El objetivo fue evaluar la calidad de la regeneración de P. douglasiana en áreas con diferente severidad de incendio. En el 2022 se realizó un muestreo destructivo a plantas de dos años para determinar la calidad de las plantas. El nivel de severidad y calidad morfológica se diferenciaron por medio de análisis de varianza y prueba de comparación de medias (Duncan, 0.05). Los resultados muestran diferencias significativas entre nivel de severidad de incendio (p &#8804; 0.05) para los índices de calidad altura, biomasa de hojas, raíz, biomasa aérea, biomasa total, relación altura y longitud de raíz. Para longitud de raíz, biomasa de tallo, relación biomasa aérea y biomasa de raíz e índice de Dickson no se encontraron significancias (p &gt; 0.05). De acuerdo a la relación altura y longitud de raíz, índice de lignificación e índice de Dickson se presentó una buena calidad de planta en los tres niveles de severidad de incendio. Para la biomasa aérea, biomasa subterránea e índice de esbeltez, las plantas mostraron baja calidad. Se obtuvieron los cocientes más altos en diámetro (4.15 mm), altura (26.03 cm), área foliar (321.2 cm2) y biomasa total (5.84 g) para el área de severidad alto. Las áreas incendiadas son adecuadas para la regeneración natural y se mejora si se conjuntan con actividades silvícolas que perfeccionen su calidad a futuro.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The natural regeneration of post-fire pine depends on various factors, such as plant quality from obtaining plants with desirable morphological characteristics that allow better expectations of survival and growth. The objective was to evaluate the quality of P. douglasiana regeneration in areas with different fire severity. In 2022, destructive sampling was carried out on two-year-old plants to determine the quality of the plants. The level of severity and morphological quality were differentiated through analysis of variance and means comparison test (Duncan, 0.05). The results show significant differences between the level of fire severity (p &#8804; 0.05) for the quality indices of height, leaf biomass, root, aerial biomass, total biomass, height ratio and root length. For root length, stem biomass, aboveground biomass and root biomass ratio and Dickson index, no significance was found (p &gt; 0.05). According to the root height and length relationship, lignification index and Dickson index, good plant quality was presented at the three levels of fire severity. For aboveground biomass, underground biomass and slenderness index, the plants showed low quality. The highest ratios in diameter (4.15 mm), height (26.03 cm), leaf area (321.2 cm2 ) and total biomass (5.84 g) were obtained for the high severity area. The burned areas are suitable for natural regeneration and are improved if they are combined with forestry activities that improve their quality in the future.]]></p></abstract>
