Este artículo tiene el propósito de introducir, de forma sencilla y no muy teórica, a los SEM. Se describen los tipos de modelos, su representación gráfica, su identificabilidad, las técnicas de estimación de parámetros y la valoración de su ajuste. Se incluye además un ejemplo para ilustrar esta metodología estadística.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: Structural equation models (SEM) are a multivariate statistical tool that allows to study the relationship between latent and observed variables. This article has the purpose of introducing SEM in a simple and not very technical way. We describe the different types of models, their graphical representation, their identifiability, some techniques for parameter estimation and the evaluation of their goodness of fit. An example is included to illustrate this statistical methodology.]]></p></abstract>
