La inquietud surgió porque, en la actualidad, bailarines, docentes y coreógrafos incluyen al yoga como parte de su entrenamiento, y algunas escuelas profesionales de danza lo integran como materia obligatoria o complementaria en la currícula para la formación de bailarines. Los avances que muestro se enfocan en dar a conocer aspectos relacionados con la enseñanza del yoga, los dividí en: 1) qué es yoga; 2) compromisos del gurú (maestro) y del &#347;i&#7779;ya (estudiante); 3) un gurú del siglo XX: B.K.S. Iyengar; 4) el aula en la práctica del yoga; y 5) los apoyos o props. Para elaborarlo recurrí a dos tipos de fuentes: documentales y testimoniales. Dentro de las documentales, revisé libros clásicos del yoga, textos de autores expertos en yoga postural y en estudios sobre Asia. Como fuentes testimoniales, realicé doce entrevistas, de las cuales retomé comentarios de tres, destacando la realizada a Raya Uma Datta, maestro de yoga de la India.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo Este artigo faz parte de uma pesquisa mais ampla intitulada Dança e Ioga, que busca indagar os vínculos entre essas duas disciplinas. O interesse surgiu porque, atualmente, bailarinos, professores e coreógrafos incluem a ioga como parte de sua formação, e algumas escolas profissionais de dança a integram como disciplina obrigatória ou complementar no currículo para a formação de bailarinos. Os avanços que mostro focam em dar a conhecer aspectos relacionados ao ensino da ioga, dividi-os em: 1) o que é ioga; 2) compromissos do guru (professor) e do &#347;i&#7779;ya (aluno); 3) um guru do século XX: B.K.S. Iyengar; 4) a sala de aula na prática de ioga; e 5) os apoios ou props. Para elaborá-lo, utilizei dois tipos de fontes: documental e testemunhal. Dentro dos documentais, revisei livros clássicos de ioga, textos de autores especialistas em ioga postural e estudos asiáticos. Como fontes testemunhais, realizei doze entrevistas, das quais retirei comentários de três, destacando-se a feita com Raya Uma Datta, professor de ioga da Índia.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This article is part of a broader research entitled Dance and Yoga, which investigates the links between these two disciplines. The concern arose because dancers, teachers, and choreographers currently include yoga as part of their training, and some professional dance schools integrate it as a compulsory or complementary subject in the curriculum for the dancers' training. The advances I present focus on aspects related to the teaching of yoga, I divided them into: 1) what is yoga; 2) the commitments of the guru (teacher) and the &#347;i&#7779;ya (student); 3) a guru of the twentieth century: B.K.S. Iyengar; 4) the classroom in the practice of yoga; and 5) the aids or props. To elaborate on it, I relied on two types of sources: documentary and testimonial. Among the documentary sources, I reviewed classic yoga books, and texts by authors who are experts in postural yoga and Asian studies. As testimonial sources, I carried out twelve interviews, of which I took up comments from three, highlighting the one with Raya Uma Datta, a yoga teacher from India.]]></p></abstract>
