In patients with previous shoulder surgery or arthroscopy, the fine ferromagnetic particles dispersed in the tissue due to microchips from a drill bit or a bur can be confused with loose bodies or bone formation and can simulate edema or subcutaneous cellulitis. Inhomogeneity artifact appears as a hyperintense or high signal in some primary field-dependent fat-suppressed sequences.
</abstract>
