Objetivo:  identificar los factores de riesgo asociados al desarrollo de lesiones por presión en pacientes críticamente enfermos por SARS-CoV-2.  Material y métodos:  estudio de tipo observacional, descriptivo y de cohorte retrospectiva con los pacientes ingresados en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos del Hospital Angeles Mocel y Juárez de México, con PCR positiva para COVID-19 que requirieron intubación y pronación, en el periodo comprendido entre enero de 2020 a enero de 2022.  Resultados:  la incidencia de desarrollo de lesiones por presión fue 40.1% y los sitios más frecuentes fueron faciales como maxilar y frontal (60%), manos (40%), tórax anterior (65%) y rodillas (71%).  Conclusiones:  los pacientes críticamente enfermos por SARS-CoV-2 tienen un riesgo aumentado de desarrollo de lesiones por presión, en donde el principal factor de riesgo asociado fue la hipoalbuminemia, el balance hídrico positivo y PaO2/FiO2.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract:  Introduction:  pressure injuries have a prevalence of up to 59.2% and in 57% of critically ill patients with SARS-CoV-2 who required prone positioning.  Objective:  to identify the risk factors associated with developing pressure injuries in critically ill patients with SARS-CoV-2.  Material and methods:  an observational, descriptive, and retrospective cohort study was conducted with patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of Hospital Angeles Mocel and Juárez in Mexico who tested positive for COVID-19 by PCR and required intubation and pronation between January 2020 and January 2022.  Results:  the incidence of pressure injury development was 40.1%, with the most frequent sites being facial areas such as the maxilla and forehead (60%), hands (40%), anterior chest (65%), and knees (71%).  Conclusions:  critically ill patients with SARS-CoV-2 have an increased risk of developing pressure injuries, with the main associated risk factors being hypoalbuminemia, positive fluid balance, and PaO2/FiO2 ratio.]]></p></abstract>
