Metodología: se calculó el índice de satisfacción general del turista y el índice de satisfacción por dimensión mediante una encuesta a 686 personas. Resultados: el índice de satisfacción general del turista es de 9.0 (nivel medio alto); la mayoría de las dimensiones obtuvieron un índice de entre 8.0 y 8.5, con nivel de satisfacción media alta. Valor: se observa la percepción del turista en uno de los destinos turísticos nacionales más importantes. Limitaciones: la temporalidad del estudio es en Semana Santa y semana de Pascua, falta contrastar la información con la que se obtenga de las personas en verano. Conclusiones: la evaluación y la percepción generales de los turistas sobre la competitividad de Mazatlán es buena; no obstante, debe haber mejoras en cada dimensión para lograr una oferta turística diferenciada y atractiva, que lleve hacia un modelo turístico competitivo.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Objective: Evaluating Mazatlán&#8217;s competitiveness from the tourists&#8217; perception of different satisfaction dimensions. Methodology: The general tourist satisfaction index was calculated and also by dimension through a survey applied to 686 individuals. Results: The overall tourist satisfaction index is 9.0 (medium-high level); most of the dimensions obtained between 8.0 and 8.5 index, meaning a medium-high level of satisfaction. Value: The observation of tourist&#8217;s perception of one of the most important national destinations. Limitations: The timing of the study is Holy week and Easter week; there is no contrast with Summer&#8217;s tourist satisfaction information. Conclusions: Tourists&#8217; evaluation and perception of Mazatlán&#8217;s competitiveness is good; however, improvement should be made for each dimension in order to achieve a differentiated and attractive tourist offer, which leads towards a competitive tourist model.]]></p></abstract>
