Con el fin de estimar cambios en las comunidades de colémbolos por el establecimiento de Acacia mangium en las sabanas, se comparó la diversidad en plantaciones de 1, 3 y 5 años con la de sabanas del proyecto forestal en el municipio de Puerto Gaitán (Meta), en las temporadas seca y de lluvias. Las muestras fueron obtenidas mediante trampas de caída expuestas durante 9 días en cada época. Se estimó y comparó la riqueza y diversidad de colémbolos entre edades y sabanas en cada temporada. Adicionalmente, se explicó la composición en función de variables fisicoquímicas del suelo y variables relacionadas con la estructura de las plantaciones, mediante el uso de ordenación (RDA). La forestación de sabanas produjo cambios en la diversidad y los ensamblajes de colémbolos. Las diferencias entre plantaciones y sabanas fueron explicadas por cambios en temperatura y contenido de humedad del suelo, contenido de arcilla, carbono orgánico, compactación y altura de la plantación. Se concluye que estados tempranos de la forestación de sabanas con A. mangium favorecen la diversidad de colémbolos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The afforestation of savannas, previously dedicated to extensive cattle ranching, with fast-growing forest species is a growing phenomenon in the Colombian Orinoquía. In order to estimate changes in the springtail communities due to the establishment of Acacia mangium in the savannas, their diversity in plantations of 1, 3 and 5 years was compared with savannas in a forestry project located in the municipality of Puerto Gaitán (Meta), during the dry and rainy season. Samples were obtained using pitfall traps exposed for 9 days in each season. Springtails richness and diversity among different plantations ages and savannas was estimated and compared in each season. Additionally, the composition was explained based on physicochemical variables of the soil and variables related to the structure of the plantations and management (RDA). Savanna afforestation produced changes in diversity and springtail assemblages. Differences among plantations and savannas were explained by changes in soil temperature and moisture, amount of clay, organic carbon, soil compaction and height of the plantation. It is concluded that early stages of the afforestation of savannas with A. mangium favors the diversity of springtails.]]></p></abstract>
