Se estudia una tradición escénica y musical mexicana particular surgida a mediados del siglo XX: el Ballet Folklórico de México de Amalia Hernández, lo que permite describir la interrelación (así como el conflicto y el entrecruzamiento) entre el discurso escénico nacional, regional y su respectivo marco de competencia. Desde una perspectiva etnocultural, estética y performativa, apoyada en entrevistas y estudios de caso, se retoma el lugar de Sonora en el programa del ballet, específicamente la Danza del venado y el repertorio denominado &#8220;Sonora bronco&#8221;. Se analizan aspectos como la disposición corporal, la vestimenta o el estilo, que ponen de manifiesto diferencias y adaptaciones, así como la negociación continua entre el discurso nacional homogeneizante y la identidad regional que lo cuestiona.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: This article investigates the influence of Mexican postrevolutionary nationalism as well as of regional discourses on performative traditions as presented by one of the most famous Mexican dance and music ensembles: the Ballet Folklórico de México founded by Amalia Hernández in the 1950s. This contribution aims to demonstrate the interrelation (as well as the conflict and interference) between national and regional discourses as reflected onstage and their respective competitive frameworks. Seen from a etnocultural, aesthetic and performative angle and supported by interviews and case studies, the investigation focuses on the region of Sonora in the Ballet&#8217;s repertory, especifically the Danza del venado (deer dance) and a regional repertory denominated &#8220;Sonora bronco&#8221;. By analyzing differences and adaptations in corporal disposition, clothing and style, the article emphasizes the continuous negotiation between a homogenizing national discourse and the various regional identity discourses mainly questioning it.]]></p></abstract>
