En este trabajo se analizan las micro y pequeñas lavanderías ubicadas en Tepetitla de Lardizabal, Tlaxcala, que se dedican al acabado de pantalón de mezclilla. Estas empresas llevan a cabo diferentes procesos los más frecuentes son el desengomado, descrude, blanqueo, stone y teñido. El análisis de las muestras de las aguas residuales demostró que en general, las descargas de todos los procesos no cumplen con los parámetros indicados en la NOM-002-ECOL-1996. Las que provienen del teñido presentan alta conductividad eléctrica debido al cloruro de sodio que se usa para este proceso. Se observó que excepto para el teñido, la sedimentación es una opción viable, como pre-tratamiento, para reducir el color y DQO hasta en 70% de manera sencilla y económica, lo que permitiría el reuso del agua en procesos que no requieran agua limpia. La prueba de fitotoxicidad mostró que las descargas del teñido son altamente fitotóxicas, las correspondientes al blanqueo y descrude lo son en menor grado, mientras que las correspondientes al desengomado y del stone no son fitotóxicas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[The textile industry is considered one of the most: polluting because U uses large amounts of chamcal compounds and water. We analyzed the micro and small textile firms from Tepetitla of Lardizabal in Tlaxcala, engaged in the textile finishing of jeans. The most common processes are waihing, softening, rinse, stone and dyeing. The analysis of the wastewaters from the different process did not match with the parameters established at trie NOM-002-ECOL-1996. Those from dyeing had the higher values in electric conductivity because of the sodium chlorine used. We observed that, except for dyeing, the sedimentation as a pre-treatment is a viable and economic option to diminish the color and COD until 70% in a simple way, besides the pre-treated water can be recycled or reused in another process which could use not clean water. The phytotoxicity assay showed that the effluents from dye process were highly phytotoxic, those from rinse and softening process were phytotoxic, and those from washing and stone process were no phytotoxic.]]></p></abstract>
