El estudio fue prospectivo, transversal de tipo no experimental, se evaluaron 10 fincas. Para el levantamiento de la información se aplicó la encuesta. Las áreas establecidas con repollo estuvieron en el rango de 0.5 a 3 hectáreas, destacando el uso de fertilizantes químicos. Se realizaron monitoreos y trampeos para el manejo de las plagas y las enfermedades. Plutella xilostella, Agrotis sp., Fusarium sp. y Alternaria sp., son las de mayor prevalencia, se emplea riego por aspersión, de fuentes superficiales. Existe una relación directa entre el área cultivada, rendimiento y ganancia. Para salvaguardar la vida de los trabajadores hacen uso de equipos de protección personal (EPP). Para garantizar producto inocuo y de calidad los medios de transporte son sanitizados, así mismo, se realizan análisis de laboratorios. Se concluye que el 30 % de los productores implementan buenas prácticas agrícolas para transformar sus sistemas productivos y mejorar la comercialización, los productores deben adaptarse a los constantes cambios que exigen los mercados para transformar sus sistemas de producción.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The objective of the study was to analyze the importance in the implementation of good practices as a management strategy in the cultivation of cabbage at the rural communities of the Jinotega municipality. The study was prospective, cross-sectional, non-experimental, with 10 farms evaluated. To collect the information, the survey was applied. The areas established with cabbage were in the range of 0.5 to 3 hectares, highlighting the use of chemical fertilizers. Monitoring and trapping were carried out to manage pests and diseases. Plutella xilostella, Agrotis sp., Fusarium sp. and Alternaria sp., are the most prevalent, sprinkler irrigation from surface sources is used. There is a direct relationship between the cultivated area, yield and profit. To save the lives of workers, they use personal protective equipment (PPE). To guarantee a safe and quality product, the means of transport are sanitized, and laboratory analyzes are carried out. It is concluded that 30 % of producers implement good agricultural practices to transform their production systems and improve marketing; producers must adapt to the constant changes that markets demand to transform their production systems.]]></p></abstract>
