Se piensa en su utilización cuando: a) no existe drenaje pluvial para recolectar agua de lluvia, b) cuando se desea recargar el manto freático. Debido a que el concreto permeable no presenta una alta resistencia mecánica, su uso se restringe para pavimentos rígidos o semirrígidos, ya sea de carga moderada o peatonal. La presente investigación propone el diseño de un concreto permeable con la adición de residuos sólidos de Tereftalato de Polietileno, y macrofibras de polipropileno comparando sus propiedades con una mezcla control sin adiciones. Se elaboraron tres mezclas con las mismas cantidades de cemento, agregados y 6 ml de aditivo inclusor de aire: la primera siendo la mezcla control (TP-6), la segunda mezcla incorporó un 0.08 % de PET respecto a la masa (TP6-PET), y la tercera con un 0.08 % de macrofibras respecto a la masa (TP6-M). Los concretos fueron caracterizados mediante diversos métodos de ensayo, determinando el contenido de vacíos y densidad, resistividad eléctrica, frecuencia de resonancia, compresión simple, tensión indirecta y flexión en vigas. Se obtuvo una mejor respuesta ante solicitaciones mecánicas por parte de las mezclas adicionadas tanto con PET como con macrofibras; por lo tanto, el refuerzo permite incrementar la vida útil, durabilidad y comportamiento mecánico en los concretos adicionados. Se observó que la resistividad eléctrica es difícilmente una prueba representativa del concreto permeable por las dificultades que se presentan al aplicar el método de ensayo en un concreto con elevada porosidad.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Pervious concrete began its development at the end of the 19th century in the United Kingdom. Its use is thought of when: a) there is no storm drainage to collect rainwater, b) when it is desired to recharge the water table. Because pervious concrete does not exhibit high mechanical strength, its use is restricted to rigid or semi-rigid pavements, whether moderately loaded or pedestrian. The present research proposes the design of a permeable concrete with the addition of solid waste of Polyethylene Terephthalate and polypropylene macrofibers, comparing its properties with a control mixture without additions. Three mixtures were made with the same amounts of cement, aggregates and 6 ml of air-inclusive additive: the first being the control mixture (TP-6), the second mixture incorporated 0.08 % PET with respect to mass (TP6-PET), and the third with 0.08 % macrofibers with respect to mass (TP6-M). The concretes were characterized by various test methods, determining the void and density content, electrical resistivity, resonant frequency, simple compression, indirect stress and bending in beams. A better response to mechanical stresses was obtained by the mixtures added with both PET and macrofibers; therefore, the reinforcement allows to increase the useful life, durability and mechanical behavior of the added concretes. It was observed that electrical resistivity is hardly a representative test of permeable concrete due to the difficulties encountered when applying the test method to a concrete with high porosity.]]></p></abstract>
