Por tanto, en el siguiente trabajo se presenta un análisis energético y económico para el aprovechamiento de la fracción metano contenida en el biogás, como energía primaria, proveniente de la descomposición orgánica de tres tipos de estiércoles (bovino, porcino y aviar) y de los RSU generados en todo el estado de Jalisco, esto, como una alternativa energética para la producción de energía eléctrica. Se consideraron costos de inversión para la construcción de biodigestores, de rellenos sanitarios y motogeneradores (MCI), así como la operación y mantenimiento de los mismos a lo largo de un proyecto a 21 años. Se realizó un análisis de valor presente neto acumulado y se estimó el tiempo de recuperación de la inversión sin y con bonos de carbono, para las doce regiones que comprenden Jalisco. Se observó que se obtiene mayor cantidad de energía eléctrica por parte de los biodigestores (16.977GWh) que de los rellenos sanitarios (4.373GWh), así como mayores beneficios económicos al término de la vida útil del proyecto $35,031x106 MN y $5,404 x106 MN, respectivamente.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract In Mexico as in many developing countries a large amount of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) is produced, which could be used for the generation of biogas. Therefore, this study presents an energy and economic analysis for the use of the methane fraction contained in biogas, as primary energy, from the organic decomposition of three types of manure (bovine, porcine and avian) and MSW generated throughout the state of Jalisco, as an alternative for the production of electric energy. Investment costs were considered for the construction of biodigesters, landfills and internal combustion engines (ICE), as well as their operation and maintenance over a 21-year project. A cumulative net present value analysis was performed and the time of the recovery of the investment with and without carbon credits was estimated for the twelve regions that comprise Jalisco. Higher electricity generation is obtained from biodigesters (16.977GWh) than from landfills (4.373GWh), as well as greater economic benefits at the end of the project's lifetime 1,994x106 USD and 308 x106 USD, respectively.]]></p></abstract>
