La investigación se realizó en la ciudad de Talca, Chile, en colegios de enseñanza media (nivel educativo de 14 a 18 años). Participaron 25 docentes, quienes respondieron un cuestionario de preguntas abiertas; sus respuestas se analizaron cualitativamente a través del análisis textual discursivo. Los resultados revelaron que los profesores perciben la interdisciplinariedad solo como yuxtaposición de disciplinas, sin una convergencia y enriquecimiento entre áreas del conocimiento.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This study presents a research project focused on biology teachers&#8217; perceptions of the concept of interdisciplinarity and their experience with interdisciplinarity in their teaching work. The research was carried out in the city of Talca, Chile, in secondary schools (students ages 14 to 18). The participants were 25 teachers, who answered a survey of open-ended questions; their responses were analyzed qualitatively through discursive textual analysis. The results revealed that the teachers perceive interdisciplinarity only as the juxtaposition of disciplines, without convergence and enrichment of areas of knowledge.]]></p></abstract>
