El objetivo fue evaluar la diversidad vegetal del sotobosque en una zona degradada (ZD), dos zonas reforestadas con Pinus montezumae Lamb. de 5 y 9 años de edad (ZR5, ZR9) y un bosque de referencia (BR, remanente de bosque natural con cierto grado de perturbación). En sitios circulares, de 100 m2 y 1 m2 dentro de cada zona, se recolectaron e identificaron las especies presentes en el sotobosque y se estimó la diversidad alfa (índices de diversidad de Margalef, Simpson y equidad) y beta (índice de similitud de Jacard), y se calculó el índice de valor de importancia relativa (IVIR). El mayor índice de riqueza y diversidad alfa se registró en ZR5 (4.26 y 0.90 respectivamente) y, esta presentó un 64% de especies compartidas con ZR9. El BR presentó un valor máximo de IVIR de 14.40, representado por Piptochaetium virescens (Kunth) Parod) y en las ZD, ZR5 y ZR9 por Muhlenbergia macroura (Kunth) Hitchc. obtuvo los valores mayores (13.34, 7.68 y 21.39, respectivamente). El estudio mostró que la composición y riqueza de especies del sotobosque está influenciado por la edad de las reforestaciones. Se evidenciaron algunas diferencias entre las zonas bajo estudio, que reestablecen la cubierta vegetal del sotobosque e inician la recuperación de las zonas degradadas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  The species diversity and abundance present in the understory are ecosystem attributes that allow to understand its integrity and, therefore, the efficiency of reforestation strategies used as an ecological restoration strategy. The objective was to evaluate the plant diversity of the understory in a degraded area (ZD), two areas reforested with Pinus montezumae Lamb., 5 and 9 years old (ZD5, ZD9), and a reference forest (BR, a remnant of natural forest with some degree of disturbance). In circular plots of 100 m2 and 1 m2 within each area, the species present in the understory were collected and identified, and alpha diversity (Margalef, Simpson, and evenness diversity indices) and beta diversity (Jacard similarity index) were estimated, and the relative importance value index (IVIR) was calculated. The highest species richness index and alpha diversity were recorded in ZR5 (4.26 and 0.90, respectively) and, the latter shared 64% of species with ZR9. The BR showed a maximum IVIR value of 14.4, represented by Piptochaetium virescens (Kunth) Parod.), and in ZD, ZR5 and ZR9 by Muhlenbergia macroura (Kunth) Hitchc. obtained the highest values (13.34, 7.68, and 21.39, respectively).
