El periodo de conservación bajo esta técnica usualmente es de 1 a 2 años sin utilizar algún subcultivo. En México, existen recursos fitogenéticos que se encuentran catalogados dentro la Norma Oficial Mexicana NOM-059-SEMARNAT-2010. Estas especies vegetales deben ser prioritariamente salvaguardadas y conservadas. Guarianthe skinneri (Bateman) Dressler &amp; W. E. Higgins es una orquídea que posee una flor que genera la atención de horticultores y/o coleccionistas como planta ornamental. El objetivo de este estudio fue establecer un protocolo de conservación in vitro de G. skinneri por mínimo crecimiento. Para ello, se valuaron en medio Murashige and Skoog (MS) diferentes concentraciones (0, 0.5, 1.0 y 2.0 mg L-1) de ácido abscísico (ABA), paclobutrazol (PBZ), ancimidol (ACD) y diferentes concentraciones (0, 5, 10 y 20 g L-1) de polietilenglicol 8000. Posteriormente se realizó la regeneración del material conservado utilizando medio MS adicionado con 2 mg L-1 de 6-Bencilaminopurina (BAP). Después de 12 meses de conservación in vitro, los resultados mostraron una reducción en la altura de los brotes conservado en MS con 2.0 mg L-1 de PBZ y en ABA 0.5 mg L-1. Sin embargo, en el tratamiento con PBZ aumentó la formación de brotes y raíces en comparación con el tratamiento con ABA. Se logró la regeneración de 5.4 brotes/explante en 2.0 mg L-1 de BAP. Así como una supervivencia del 90% durante el proceso de aclimatización. Los resultados de este estudio pueden contribuir a los trabajos de conservación que se llevan a cabo en esta especie de importancia ornamental.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract In vitro conservation techniques are considered methods of medium-term conservation of plant germplasm. The conservation period under this technique is usually 1 to 2 years without using any subculture. In Mexico there are plant genetic resources that are cataloged within the Official Mexican Standard NOM-059-SEMARNAT-2010. These plant species must be safeguarded and conserved as a priority. Guarianthe skinneri (Bateman) Dressler &amp; W. E. Higgins is an orchid that has a flower that attracts the attention of horticulturists and/or collectors as an ornamental plant. The objective of this study was to establish an in vitro conservation protocol for G. skinneri through minimal growth. For this, different concentrations (0, 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0 mg L-1) of abscisic acid (ABA), paclobutrazol (PBZ), ancimidol (ACD) and different concentrations (0, 5, 10 and 20 g L-1) of polyethylene glycol (8000). Subsequently, the regeneration of the preserved material was carried out using MS medium added with 2 mg L-1 of 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP). After 12 months of in vitro conservation, the results showed a reduction in the length of the shoots preserved in MS with 2.0 mg L-1 of PBZ and in ABA 0.5 mg L-1. However, in the PBZ treatment, shoot and root formation increased compared to the ABA treatment. The regeneration of 5.4 shoots/explant was achieved at 2.0 mg L-1 of BAP. As well as a survival of 90% during the acclimatization process. The results of this study can contribute to the conservation work carried out on this species of ornamental importance.]]></p></abstract>
