Puede tener consecuencias graves para la salud reproductiva de la mujer y trasmitirse al recién nacido al momento del parto.  CASOS CLÍNICOS: Primer caso: paciente de 19 años, con 27 semanas de embarazo, complicada con bartolinitis y trabajo de parto prematuro. El cultivo microbiológico por aspiración reportó N gonorrhoeae. Segundo caso: paciente de 24 años, con 34.3 semanas de embarazo, complicado con skenitis. El cultivo microbiológico por aspiración reportó: N gonorrhoeae. Ambas madres reaccionaron adecuadamente al tratamiento médico. Los recién nacidos no tuvieron complicaciones.  CONCLUSIONES:  La infección por N gonorrhoeae en las glándulas genitales externas de mujeres embarazadas es rara. Quizá debido a que la gonorrea es una infección reemergente debe pensarse en ella. La confirmación microbiológica es urgente porque de ello, el tratamiento quirúrgico y el seguimiento estricto de las complicaciones en la madre y su hijo dependerá el pronóstico de ambos. Lo anterior sin dejar de lado el tratamiento a la pareja. Actualizarse en el conocimiento de esta vieja enfermedad infecciosa y su forma de tratamiento es imprescindible para poder aplicar las medidas para su control en el futuro cercano.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  BACKGROUND:  We report two rare cases of Gonorrhoeae in women pregnancy located in Bartholin and Skene glands. These infections produced severe complications in woman reproductive health and could transmitted to the newborn at birth.  CLINICAL CASES:  First patient; a 19 years old woman on the 27 + 0 week of pregnancy complicated with bartholinitis and labor premature. Microbiologic culture by aspiration show N gonorrhoeae. Second patient: a 24 years old woman on the 34 + 3 week of pregnancy complicated with skeneitis. Microbiologic culture by aspiration show N. gonorrhoeae. Both mothers respond adequally to treatment. Their newborns were asymptomatic.  CONCLUSIONS: N gonorrhoeae infection in the external genital glands of pregnant women is rare. Perhaps because gonorrhea is a reemerging infection it should be considered. Microbiological confirmation is urgent because the prognosis for both mother and child will depend on it and the surgical treatment and strict follow-up of complications in the mother and her child. The above without neglecting the treatment of the couple. It is essential to be updated in the knowledge of this old infectious disease and its treatment in order to be able to apply measures for its control in the near future.]]></p></abstract>
