En este artículo explico la diferencia entre las interpretaciones de la palabra realidad de José Ortega y Gasset y Martin Heidegger. Ambos consideran la vida humana como un fenómeno fundamental, pero Ortega la llama &#8220;realidad radical&#8221;, mientras que Heidegger rechaza esta denominación. Esta diferencia se basa en la interpretación, desde distintas raíces etimológicas y filosóficas, del término realidad: Ortega toma como base el término griego pragma (&#8220;cosa&#8221;), mientras que Heidegger se apoya en ousía (&#8220;sustancia&#8221;). Esta diferencia revela lo que cada autor entiende por realidad y su función en sus respectivas filosofías. Argumento que la interpretación de Ortega es superior a la de Heidegger porque logra resignificar el sentido tradicional de realidad mediante una interpretación fenomenológicamente anterior a la sustancia.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract. In this paper I explain the difference between José Ortega y Gasset&#8217;s and Martin Heidegger&#8217;s interpretations of the word reality. Both consider human life as a fundamental phenomenon, but Ortega calls it &#8220;radical reality&#8221;, while Heidegger rejects this denomination. This difference is due to their interpretation, based on different etymological and philosophical backgrounds, of the term reality: Ortega grounds his interpretation on the Greek term pragma (&#8220;thing&#8221;), while Heidegger relies on ousia (&#8220;substance&#8221;). This difference reveals what each author understands by reality and its function in their respective philosophies. I argue that Ortega&#8217;s interpretation is superior to Heidegger&#8217;s because he succeeds in re-signifying the traditional sense of reality through an interpretation phenomenologically prior to substance.]]></p></abstract>
