Cuantitativamente se posiciona en el tercer lugar después de Broussonetia papyrifera y Morus sp. El objetivo de este trabajo es evaluar los cambios de la concentración del polen de Urticaceae con el fin de establecer su variación interanual y estacional y su relación con algunos parámetros meteorológicos.  Métodos: La captura de polen se realizó mediante un muestreador aerobiológico volumétrico entre el invierno 2008 y el otoño 2016. El procesamiento de las muestras siguió el método estándar de la Red Española de Aerobiología. Se realizó un análisis exploratorio y un análisis inferencial bivariado para determinar correlaciones entre las concentraciones de polen y los factores meteorológicos seleccionados.  Resultados clave:  El polen de Urticaceae presentó una media anual de 743.03 g/m3 lo que representa un 11% con relación a la cantidad total encontrada en el período analizado. El Período de Polinización Principal (PPP) varía entre 58 y 232 días, iniciando en los meses de agosto, septiembre y noviembre. Las elevadas temperaturas primaverales combinadas con precipitaciones invernales determinaron modificaciones en la fecha de inicio de PPP. Las variaciones de polen de Urticaceae capturado se relacionan con la temperatura media y las precipitaciones totales registradas durante el PPP.  Conclusiones: Urticaceae es una de las familias mejor representadas en el espectro polínico de la atmósfera de San Miguel de Tucumán. Para comprender con mayor profundidad sus variaciones, además de los parámetros meteorológicos tratados en este trabajo, deberían considerarse otros factores como los cambios en la cantidad y ubicación de las fuentes emisoras, la dirección del viento y los valores de las concentraciones de CO2.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract:  Background and Aims:  In the atmosphere of San Miguel de Tucumán, Urticaceae pollen is relevant due to its abundance and permanence in the pollen cloud, as well as for its allergenic character. Quantitatively, it ranks third after Broussonetia papyrifera and Morus sp. This research aims to evaluate the changes in the concentration of Urticaceae pollen in order to establish its interannual and seasonal variation and its relationship with some meteorological parameters.  Methods:  Pollen capture was performed using a volumetric aerobiological sampler between the winter of 2008 and the autumn of 2016. Sample processing followed the standard method of the Spanish Aerobiology Network. Exploratory analysis and bivariate inferential analysis were performed to determine correlations between pollen concentrations and selected meteorological factors.  Key results:  Urticaceae pollen presented an annual average of 743.03 g/m3, which represents 11% of the total amount found in the analyzed period. The Main Pollination Period (PPP) varied between 58 and 232 days, starting in the months of August, September and November. The high spring temperatures combined with winter precipitation determine the anticipation of the PPP start date. The changes in the Urticaceae pollen load are related to the mean temperature and total precipitation recorded during PPP.  Conclusions:  Urticaceae is one of the best represented families in the pollen spectrum of the atmosphere of San Miguel de Tucumán. In addition to the meteorological parameters discussed in this research, other factors such as the changes in the amount and location of emitting sources, wind direction and CO2 concentrations, should be considered to better understand the annual and seasonal variations described in this work.]]></p></abstract>
