El sensor incluye un interferómetro compensado formado por dos secciones de fibra altamente birrefringente, además de un esquema polarimétrico que incluye un prisma Wollaston y un polarizador que permite tener la interferencia entre dos modos ortogonales de polarización de la fibra HB. El sensor permite la medición de la diferencia de temperatura entre dos puntos con alta sensibilidad. El sensor propuesto puede ser utilizado en calorimetría para la medición de potencia de láseres. Se describe la estructura del sensor, el método de procesamiento de señales y se presentan resultados experimentales.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[A differential temperature sensor employing a low-coherence interferometry technique with signal processing based on phase scanning is described. The sensor is composed of a compensated interferometer formed by two sections of a high-birefringence fiber and a polarimetric scheme, which includes Wollaston prism and polarizer, permitting the interference between two orthogonally polarization modes. The sensor allows the measurements of the difference in temperature, between two points with high sensitivity. The sensor can be used in calorimetry for laser power measurements. The details of the sensor configuration and signal processing method along with experimental results are described.]]></p></abstract>

El sensor incluye un interfer&oacute;metro compensado formado por dos secciones de fibra altamente birrefringente, adem&aacute;s de un esquema polarim&eacute;trico que incluye un prisma Wollaston y un polarizador que permite tener la interferencia entre dos modos ortogonales de polarizaci&oacute;n de la fibra HB. El sensor permite la medici&oacute;n de la diferencia de temperatura entre dos puntos con alta sensibilidad. El sensor propuesto puede ser utilizado en calorimetr&iacute;a para la medici&oacute;n de potencia de l&aacute;seres.
