Objetivo:  conocer la tasa de uso de radioscopia en cirugía vertebral; evaluar el uso de elementos de protección, reconocer medidas de control, analizar los eventos adversos y evaluar la asimilación del cirujano a los elementos de protección.  Material y métodos:  encuesta de 27 preguntas aplicada a cirujanos espinales ibero-latinoamericanos.  Resultados:  519 respuestas, donde el 63% tiene alta dedicación a patología espinal. El arco C es el método de control intraoperatorio más utilizado, principalmente para marcar el nivel. El 59% de los encuestados utiliza rayos intraoperatorios más de una vez por semana, de forma pulsátil, pero con bajo control del tiempo. El delantal plomado de una pieza es la protección más utilizada, asociado con protección tiroidea; el 80% no conoce cuándo se deben renovar. El 54% utiliza dosímetros. Se confirmaron 93 casos de trastornos visuales, 28 patologías tiroideas, 39 dermatitis, 16 casos de infertilidad y una enfermedad oncohematológica; el 6.74% de los cirujanos fueron intervenidos quirúrgicamente por estos problemas.  Conclusiones:  el control radioscópico es una práctica frecuente. El delantal plomado de una pieza es el método más utilizado. El 34% de los encuestados presentó un evento adverso relacionado. Existe poca adherencia y el control en los cirujanos especialistas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract:  Introduction:  the use of radioscopy in practices performed by spinal surgeons is increasingly common, but it is not free from adverse events to patients or health personnel.  Objective:  to know the rate of use of radioscopy in vertebral surgery; to evaluate the use of protective elements, recognize control measures, analyze adverse events and assess the surgeon&#8217;s assimilation of protective elements.  Material and methods:  survey of 27 questions to Ibero-American spinal surgeons.  Results:  519 responses, where 63% have high dedication to spinal pathology. The C-arc is the most widely used intraoperative control method, mainly for level marking. 59% of the respondents use intraoperative rays more than once a week, pulsatile but with low time control. The most commonly used one-piece protective apron, associated with thyroid protection; 80% do not know when they should be renewed. 54% use dosimeters. There were 93 confirmed cases of visual disorders, 28 thyroid pathologies, 39 dermatitis, 16 cases of infertility and one oncohematological disease; 6.74% of the surgeons were surgically treated for these problems.  Conclusions:  radioscopic control is a common practice. The one-piece leaded apron is the most widely used method. 34% of the respondents present a related adverse event. There is little adherence and control in specialist surgeons.]]></p></abstract>
