La mayoría de las veces no es preciso, objetivo ni reproducible.  Objetivo:  moldeamiento de la barra adaptado al tipo sagital específico de cada paciente de acuerdo con Roussouly y colaboradores.  Material y métodos:  los autores realizaron una búsqueda utilizando las bases de datos MEDLINE, PubMed y Google Scholar de la literatura disponible hasta el 2024, utilizando los siguientes términos: &#8220;Roussouly&#8221;, &#8220;barras&#8221;, &#8220;moldeamiento&#8221;, &#8220;deformidad lumbar&#8221;, &#8220;equilibrio sagital&#8221;. Luego, crearon pautas operativas para proponer una técnica diferente a las existentes, se puso en práctica con un caso clínico.  Resultados:  según la literatura revisada, los autores definieron los siguientes aspectos a considerar en un moldeamiento de barra espinal basados en: radiografías preoperatorias y transoperatorias, número de vértebras lordóticas, ápex de la curva lumbar y la transición toracolumbar objetiva para un Roussouly (definido por incidencia pélvica y pendiente sacra). Se realizó cirugía para corrección de deformidad coronal y sagital, se moldearon dos barras de cromo-cobalto basados en las características descritas. En la toma de medidas postoperatorias se obtuvo lordosis ideal para la incidencia pélvica y un moldeamiento de barra acorde a la morfología (Roussouly tipo 4) del paciente.  Conclusión:  el método planteado no se ha descrito en lo revisado de la literatura hasta el momento y otorga ventaja respecto a otras técnicas descritas, al contar con una referencia imagenológica preoperatoria y transoperatorias nos ayuda a adaptarlo al tipo ideal de columna.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract:  Introduction:  manual contoured spine rods is performed in spinal deformity surgery. Most of the time it is not precise, objective or reproducible.  Objective:  contoured rods adapted to the specific sagittal type of each patient according to Roussouly et al.  Material and methods:  the authors performed research using the MEDLINE, PubMed and Google Scholar databases for the literature available until 2024, using the following terms: &#8220;Roussouly&#8221;, &#8220;Rods&#8221;, &#8220;contoured&#8221;, &#8220;Lumbar deformity&#8221;, &#8220;sagittal balance&#8221;. Then, they created operational guidelines to propose a new and different technique which was put into practice with a clinical case.  Results:  according to the literature reviewed, the authors defined the following aspects to consider for contoured spine rods based on preoperative and intraoperative radiographs: number of lordotic vertebrae, apex of the lumbar curve and the objective thoracolumbar transition for a Roussouly (defined by pelvic incidence and sacral slope). Surgery was performed to correct coronal and sagittal deformity, 2 chrome-cobalt rods were contoured based on the characteristics described. In the postoperative measurements, ideal lordosis was obtained for the pelvic incidence and contoured rods according to the morphology (Roussouly type 4) of the patient.  Conclusion:  the proposed method has not been described in the literature reviewed to date and provides an advantage over other described techniques, as having a preoperative and transoperative imaging reference it helps us to adapt it to the ideal type of spine.]]></p></abstract>
