Sin embargo, el desarrollo de las técnicas endovasculares ha impactado significativamente en la reducción de las mismas.  Objetivo: Caracterizar demográfica y clínicamente los pacientes con AATA sometidos a manejo endovascular con prótesis fenestradas (FEVAR) o ramificadas (BEVAR) en el Hospital de San José de Bogotá, durante el periodo 2013-2024.  Método: Estudio observacional de cohorte retrospectiva, que incluye pacientes adultos con diagnóstico de AATA y reparo endovascular FEVAR o BEVAR. Se recolectaron los datos y se realizó análisis estadísticos utilizando el software STATA v.18®.  Resultados: Se obtuvo una cohorte de 37 pacientes con una media de edad de 67 años y desviación estándar (DE) de 9, la mayoría del sexo masculino (73%). Aquellos con enfermedad coronaria presentaron mayor frecuencia de complicaciones médicas postoperatorias (p = 0.05); el grupo BEVAR presentó mayor tasa de éxito del implante (p = 0.022), y menor incidencia de sangrado (p = 0.040). El tabaquismo se asoció a los desenlaces clínicos a 30 días (p = 0.018).  Conclusión: La experiencia institucional acumulada demuestra una alta tasa de éxito con bajas tasas de complicaciones y mortalidad.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  Background: Thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms (TAAAs) are associated with high morbidity and mortality rates, primarily due to the complexity of diagnosis and treatment. However, the development of endovascular repair techniques has significantly reduced these risks and complications.  Objective: To describe the demographic and clinical characteristics of patients with TAAAs who underwent endovascular management with fenestrated (FEVAR) or branched (BEVAR) endografts at Hospital de San José in Bogotá between 2013 and 2024.  Method: Retrospective observational cohort study, including adult patients diagnosed with TAAA who received FEVAR or BEVAR endovascular repair. Data were collected and analyzed using STATA v.18® software.  Results: A cohort of 37 patients with a mean age of 67 years and standard deviation (SD) of 9 was analyzed, most were males (73%). Those with coronary artery disease had a higher frequency of postoperative complications (p = 0.05). The BEVAR group showed a higher implant success rate (p = 0.022) and a lower incidence of bleeding (p = 0.040). Smoking was significantly associated with 30-day clinical outcomes (p = 0.018).  Conclusion: The accumulated institutional experience demonstrates a high technical success rate with low complication and mortality rates.]]></p></abstract>
