<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2594-28402025000200003&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2594-28402025000200003&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2594-28402025000200003&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen: Algunos estudios mencionan que el autocontrol y el perdón contribuyen a la disminución del ciberacoso (Oliveira, et al., 2024; Peker &amp; Yildiz, 2021; Wang &amp; Ge, 2021); sin embargo, son escasos los estudios que han indagado en las relaciones de estas variables con las intervenciones defensivas de los espectadores en el ciberacoso. El presente estudio tiene como objetivo examinar la correlación entre las fortalezas humanas de perdón y autocontrol con las intervenciones defensivas de los espectadores en el ciberacoso. La muestra se seleccionó de forma no probabilística con un muestreo intencional, con un total de 147 estudiantes universitarios, cuyas edades oscilan entre los 17 y los 35 años (M edad = 22.50, DE = 3.78). Se utilizaron dos subescalas de la escala multidimensional de templanza en adolescentes (TV) para medir el perdón y el autocontrol (García-Vázquez et al., 2021). Las intervenciones defensivas de los espectadores se midieron mediante las subescalas de intervención agresiva y constructiva de la escala del instrumento de estilos de intervención de los espectadores (Alcantar-Nieblas et al., 2022). Esta escala presenta dos dimensiones: (a) intervención constructiva y (b) intervención agresiva. Mediante una prueba de correlaciones (p &lt; .05) se encontró que el autocontrol y el perdón se relacionaron de manera positiva y significativa con las intervenciones constructivas. Sin embargo, no se encontró relación entre estas fortalezas con la intervención agresiva.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: Some studies have indicated that self-control and forgiveness contribute to the reduction of cyberbullying (Oliveira et al., 2024; Peker &amp; Yildiz, 2021; Wang &amp; Ge, 2021); however, few studies have investigated the relationships between the variables of self-control and forgiveness with the defensive interventions of bystanders in cyberbullying. This study aims to examine the correlation between the human strengths of forgiveness and self-control and the defensive interventions in bystanders in cyberbullying. The sample was selected in a non-probabilistic way with intentional sampling, with 147 university students aged 17 to 35 years (M age = 22.50, SD = 3.78). Two scales of the multidimensional temperance scale in adolescents were used to measure forgiveness and self-control (García-Vázquez et al., 2021). Bystanders&#8217; defensive interventions were measured using the aggressive and constructive intervention subscales from the Bystander Intervention Style Scale (Alcantar-Nieblas et al., 2022). Bystander defensive interventions were measure d using the Aggressive and Constructive Intervention subscales of the Bystander Intervention Styles Instrument scale (Alcantar-Nieblas et al., 2022). This scale presents two dimensions: (a) Constructive Intervention and (b) Aggressive Intervention. A correlation test (p &lt; .05) revealed that self-control and forgiveness were positively and significantly associated with constructive interventions.
