La aeromicrofunga, se refiere a la presencia de esporas de hongos en el ambiente.  Objetivo. Estudiar la incidencia de esporas de Epicoccum, Ganoderma, Pithomyces y Torula en el aire del área metropolitana de Monterrey, México.  Métodos. Se utilizó un colector volumétrico Burkard, colocado a una altura aproximada de 15 m y elevado a 1.5 m del techo o terraza en el edificio principal de la Unidad C de la Facultad de Ciencias Biológicas de la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León. Se revisó semanalmente y las muestras se trasladaron al Laboratorio de Anatomía y Fisiología Vegetal para ser identificadas y cuantificadas las esporas anemófilas.  Resultados y conclusiones. El índice esporal total registrado es de 54595 esporas del 1 de enero al 31 de diciembre del 2008. El índice esporal mensual máximo corresponde a diciembre con 15458. Para los tipos morfológicos estudiados se encontraron los siguientes índices esporales: Epicoccum 114, Ganoderma 346, Pithomyces 218 y Torula 412. La correlación de Spearman entre las variables meteorológicas y las esporas, indican que la velocidad del viento y la temperatura media muestran correlación negativa y significativa para los tipos de esporas en estudio.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  Background. The aeromicrofunga refers to the airborne fungal contributors of the environment.  Objective. To study the incidence of spores of Epicoccum, Ganoderma, Pithomyces and Torula in the air of the metropolitan area of Monterrey, Mexico.  Methods. A Burkard volumetric collector was used, placed at an approximate height of 15 m and elevated 1.5 m from the roof in the main building of Unit C of the Faculty of Biological Sciences of the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon. It was reviewed weekly and the samples were carried to the Plant Anatomy and Physiology Laboratory to be identified and quantified the anemophilic spores.  Results and conclusions. A spore index total of 54595 spores. The month that showed the highest spore index was December with 15458. For the morphological types studied, an Epicoccum spore index of 114, Ganoderma spore index of 347, Pithomyces spore index of 218 and 412 for Torula. The Spearman correlation between meteorological variables and spores, indicate that the wind speed and the average temperature show negative and significant correlation for the types of spores in study.]]></p></abstract>
