Se presenta el caso de una mujer de 73 años con tumor phyllodes de 7 x 6 x 4 cm y metástasis pulmonares. La paciente recibió seis ciclos de adriamicina, con respuesta completa, y quedó en vigilancia. El tumor phyllodes se presenta con una mediana de edad de 45 años. Las metástasis a distancia en tumores benignos, limítrofes y malignos representan el 3.2, 11.1 y 28.6% respectivamente, siendo pulmón, hueso y abdomen los sitios más comunes. Las metástasis indican un mal pronóstico, con una supervivencia media de menos de dos años.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Phyllodes tumor of the breast is a rare neoplasm, representing &lt; 1% of mammary tumors. We report the case of a 73-year-old woman with phyllodes tumor of 7 x 6 x 4 cm with pulmonary metastasis, who received six cycles of adriamycin, with complete response, and remained under surveillance. Breast phyllodes tumor presents with a median age of 45 years. Distant metastases in benign, borderline and malignant tumors represent 3.2%, 11.1% and 28.6% respectively, with lung, bone and abdomen being the most common sites. Metastases indicate a poor prognosis with an average survival of less than two years.]]></p></abstract>
