En la investigación participaron 30 alumnos de sexto grado y 12 maestros de 1er. a 6to. grados, ambas poblaciones de distintas escuelas ubicadas en México. Los participantes trabajaron fichas didácticas diseñadas para promover el aprendizaje autónomo mediante la creación de diferentes procedimientos no convencionales al resolver problemas de división. En estas fichas se pide estimar el cociente antes de efectuar operaciones aritméticas, esto como una forma de iniciar la comprensión del problema. En los diversos procedimientos generados por los participantes encontramos la estrategia de colocar las restas en los dividendos decimales parciales, la cual, consideramos es una contribución a la docencia, debido a que les resultó eficaz para comprender el algoritmo estándar de la división con punto decimal. Para los maestros fue relevante analizar videograbaciones de sus clases y reflexionar sobre los procedimientos creados por sus alumnos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: The present study has the purpose of exploring how the autonomous learning helps out adaptive expertise in elementary school students and teachers. The research involved 30 students of 6th grade and 12 teachers of 1st to 6th degrees, both populations of different schools located in Mexico. Participants solved worksheets designed to promote autonomous learning by creating dif-ferent unconventional procedures to solve division problems. On these work-sheets is requested to estimate the quotient before performing arithmetic operations, in order to start understanding the problem. In various procedures generated by the participants, we find the strategy of placing subtractions in the decimal partial dividends. We think this strategy is a contribution to teaching because it was effective in understanding division with decimal point. The teachers considered important to analyze their teaching practice through videotaping and reflect on solution procedures of their students.]]></p></abstract>
