El estudio duró 120 días y se utilizaron 16 becerros cruzados con un peso promedio de 260 ± 5 Kg. Los animales se alimentaron con cuatro dietas experimentales; T1: 15 % heno de alfalfa (HA), 15 % heno de avena (HAV), 20 % harinolina (H), 47 % maíz rolado (MR), 1 % mezcla mineral, 2 % bicarbonato; T2, T3 y T4 se le adicionó al T1 20, 40 y 60 g del precursor glucogénico, respectivamente. Los datos obtenidos se analizaron con un diseño completamente al azar (4 tratamientos y 4 repeticiones). Para su administración el precursor glucogénico se mezcló con los ingredientes de las dietas, las cuales fueron proporcionadas a las 07:00 y 19:00 h. El consumo se restringió al 2.8 % del peso vivo de los animales. La mayor ganancia diaria de peso (GDP), la conversión alimenticia (CA), el peso de la canal caliente (PPC) y el área del ojo de la costilla (AOC) se obtuvieron con el tratamiento de 20 g de precursor glucogénico (P&lt;0.05). De acuerdo a los resultados de esta investigación se puede concluir que 20 g de precursor glucogénico mejoran las variables productivas y características de la canal de los becerros en corral de engorda.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of commercial gluocogenic precursor (Lipofeed(r)) onproductive performance and carcass characteristics of steers in feedlot. The study lasted 120 days, and 16steers of different breeds of cattle were used with an average weight of 260±5 kg. Animals were fed with experimental diets; T1: 15 % alfalfa hay (AH), 15 % oat hay (OH), 20 % cotton seal (CS), 47 % rolled corn, 1 % minerals, 2 % bicarbonate; T2, T3, y T4 added 20, 40 and 60 g of glucogenic precursor. +. For administration, the glucogenic precursor was mixed with the ingredients of diets which were provided at 07:00, and 19:00 h. The intake of each diet, was restricted to 2.8% of live animal weight. Data obtained were analyzed with a completely randomized design (4 treatments and 4 replicates). The higher weight daily gain (WDG), feed conversion (FC), hot carcass weight (HCC) and area of rib eye (ARE) were obtained with the treatment of 20 g of glucogenic precursor (P&lt;0.05). According the results of this research, it is concluded that 20 g of glucogenic precursor improves the productive variables and characteristics carcass of steers in feedlot.]]></p></abstract>
