Objetivo: Determinar la tasa de detección de LSS en colonoscopias de tamizaje realizadas en un hospital privado de tercer nivel.  Método: Estudio retrospectivo de colonoscopias realizadas entre enero de 2021 y diciembre de 2023. Se seleccionaron tres endoscopistas para evaluar su tasa de detección de LSS. Se registraron variables clínicas, endoscópicas e histológicas.  Resultados: Se analizaron 324 colonoscopias de tamizaje. Se identificaron 33 LSS, 124 pólipos hiperplásicos y ningún adenoma serrado tradicional. La edad promedio fue 63 años, con distribución equitativa por sexo. El 66% presentó más de una lesión. Solo el 1.5% de las LSS mostró displasia de alto grado. La tasa de detección varió del 5.9 al 14.8% entre endoscopistas.  Conclusiones: Las LSS se distribuyeron equitativamente entre ambos sexos, fueron más frecuentes en adultos mayores y se encontraron tanto en colon derecho como izquierdo. Existe variabilidad importante en la tasa de detección entre endoscopistas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  Introduction: Sessile serrated lesions (SSLs) have malignant potential and account for a significant portion of interval colorectal cancers.  Objective: To determine the detection rate of SSLs in screening colonoscopies performed at a tertiary private hospital.  Method: A retrospective study of colonoscopies from January 2021 to December 2023. Three endoscopists were selected to evaluate their detection rate of SSLs. Clinical, endoscopic and histologic data were collected.  Results: A total of 324 screening colonoscopies were analyzed. Thirty-three SSLs, 124 hyperplastic polyps, and no traditional serrated adenomas were found. The average patient age was 63, with equal sex distribution. Sixty-six percent had multiple lesions. Only 1.5% of SSLs had high-grade dysplasia. Detection rates ranged from 5.9 to 14.8% among endoscopists.  Conclusions: SSLs were similarly distributed between sexes, more frequent in older adults, and located in both right and left colon. Detection rates varied significantly among endoscopists.]]></p></abstract>
