El uso de la imagen de banda estrecha con magnificación puede detectar el signo endoscópico de la Cresta Azul, que es una línea fina, azul-blanquecina sobre la cresta de la superficie epitelial y que tiene una alta exactitud para el diagnóstico de Metaplasia Intestinal. PENTAX Medical ha desarrollado el Sistema OE, que es un filtro óptico que produce una luz que limita la imagen de banda estrecha. Al combinar las tecnologías de posprocesamiento de imagen pueden identificarse, mediante contrastes más altos que la luz blanca, las estructuras superficiales de los vasos sanguíneos, conductos glandulares y el patrón mucoso. Esto proporciona una imagen mejorada y en tiempo real.  Objetivos: Establecer la exactitud diagnóstica del Sistema OE Mode: con magnificación para la detección de Metaplasia Intestinal a través la identificación del signo de la Cresta Azul. Y determinar la prevalencia de infección de H. Pylori en esta población.  Métodos: Estudio prospectivo, transversal y comparativo, no randomizado. En pacientes con diferentes riesgos de cáncer gástrico que acudieron al servicio para la realización de endoscopia gastrointestinal.  Resultados: Se estudió a un total de 116 pacientes. Se confirmó MI en 28 pacientes con una prevalencia del 24.1%, y en 30 pacientes infección por H. pylori (26%). La identificación con el Sistema OE Mode de la Cresta Azul tiene una sensibilidad de 74%, especificidad del 96%, con un VPP 83.3%, y un VPN 93.2%. Se obtuvo una relación de Spearman entre la identificación de la Cresta Azul y su confirmación con el reporte histopatológico de 0.707.  Conclusiones: El uso del Sistema Pentax OE y magnificación: para la identificación del signo endoscópico de la Cresta Azul es altamente especifico y sensible para el diagnóstico de metaplasia intestinal. La eficacia del Sistema Pentax OE: sobre la endoscopia con Luz Blanca, es superior para la detección de metaplasia intestinal. La prevalencia de infección por H. pylori y de Metaplasia Intestinal: es similar a lo reportado en la literatura.]]></p></abstract>
