Esto ha generado un aumento en el número de casos atendidos, lo que comporta una reducción en el tiempo para la limpieza y desinfección, lo que nos lleva finalmente a un incremento en el riesgo de colonización y/o infección derivado del uso de este tipo de equipo biomédico. Los endoscopios se han relacionado con brotes de infecciones asociadas a la atención en salud debido a la contaminación que presentan este tipo de dispositivos, a pesar de someterse a procesos de limpieza y desinfección de alto nivel. El que exista fallas en la limpieza, desinfección y secado del endoscopio incrementa el riesgo de transmisión de cualquier microorganismo patógeno que esté en contacto con la estructura de estos dispositivos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Endoscopy has evolved vertiginously as a diagnostic and therapeutic method of minimal invasion, which has generated an increase in the number of cases attended, leading to a reduction in time for cleaning and disinfection, which finally leads to an increase in the risk of colonization and/or infection derived from the use of this type of biomedical equipment. Endoscopes have been associated with outbreaks of healthcare-associated infections due to the contamination of these types of devices, despite being subjected to high-level cleaning and disinfection processes. Failure to clean, disinfect and dry the endoscope increases the risk of transmission of any pathogenic microorganism that is in contact with the structure of these devices.]]></p></abstract>
