Material y métodos:  Éste es un estudio cuantitativo, descriptivo y transversal. La muestra estuvo constituida por 95 tutores clínicos contratados para impartir las actividades académicas relacionadas con la práctica clínica en las especializaciones y que estuvieran dispuestos a participar. Se diseñó una escala de autoevaluación que contiene tres dimensiones y subdimensiones de la competencia transversal y fue validada por jueceo de expertos y estudio piloto. Se aplicó a través de la plataforma Google Forms. Se calculó la variable total y se obtuvieron los porcentajes correspondientes.  Resultados:  Se realizó un diagnóstico diferenciado en fortalezas y áreas de oportunidad en las competencias transversales del tutor clínico. En general, la autoevaluación muestra porcentajes altos en las dimensiones consideradas, con variaciones porcentuales en cada una de ellas.  Conclusiones:  Las competencias transversales del tutor clínico demandan de capacitación diferenciada para lograr un perfil que aporte al desarrollo de competencias transversales, tales como: la capacidad para diseñar escenarios de aprendizaje, el cuidado especializado y capacidad para evaluar el aprendizaje en escenarios de práctica real.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  Objective:  Analyze the transversal competencies of clinical tutors through diagnostic self-assessment to identify strengths and areas of opportunity in clinical tutoring.  Material and methods:  This is a quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional study. The sample consisted of 95 clinical tutors hired to teach academic activities related to clinical practice in the specializations and who were willing to participate. A self assessment scale was designed that contains three dimensions and subdimensions of transversal competence and was validated by expert judging and a pilot study. It was applied through the Google Forms platform. The total variable was calculated and the corresponding percentages were obtained.  Results:  A differentiated diagnosis was made in strengths and areas of opportunity in the transversal competencies of the clinical tutor. In general, the self-assessment demonstrates that high percentages in the dimensions considered with not significant variations in these.  Conclusions:  The transversal competencies of the clinical tutor demand differentiated training to achieve a profile that contributes to the development of transversal competencies such as the ability to design learning scenarios, specialized care and the ability to evaluate learning in real practice scenarios.]]></p></abstract>
