El objetivo del presente estudio es doble: en primer lugar, caracterizar el ecosistema contemporáneo de la formación doctoral en Paraguay y, en segundo lugar, analizar los retos que persisten, en ocasiones en estado latente. Los principales hallazgos se relacionan con la falta de una cultura investigativa sólida, lo que impide la consolidación de líneas de investigación, mantiene a los docentes en situación de precarización y limita el desarrollo de investigadores con perfiles diversos, lo que, además, repercute negativamente en la formación doctoral y, en última instancia, a la investigación y la innovación en el país. Los resultados apuntan la necesidad de poner en práctica las normativas vigentes mediante la voluntad política de las autoridades e instituciones reguladoras.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo A formação de doutorado no Paraguai está evoluindo gradualmente e vem se consolidando nos últimos anos com uma tendência à homogeneização dos programas de doutorado existentes no país. O objetivo deste estudo é duplo: primeiro, caracterizar o ecossistema contemporâneo de formação doutoral no Paraguai e, segundo, analisar os desafios que persistem, às vezes em estado latente. O que se observa principalmente é a falta de uma cultura sólida de pesquisa, o que impede a consolidação de linhas de pesquisa, mantém os docentes em situação de precariedade e limita o desenvolvimento de pesquisadores com perfis diversos, o que também impacta negativamente na formação de doutoral e, em última instância, na pesquisa e inovação no país. Os resultados apontam para a necessidade de colocar em prática a regulamentação vigente por meio da vontade política das autoridades e instituições reguladoras.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The evolution and strengthening of PhD training in Paraguay in recent years have led to a tendency towards homogenization of existing doctoral programs in the country. The purpose of this study is twofold: first, it aims to characterize the contemporary ecosystem of doctoral training in Paraguay and, second, to analyze the persistent challenges, sometimes in a latent state. The main findings highlight the lack of a solid research culture, which hinders the consolidation of research lines, puts teachers in a precarious situation and restricts the development of researchers with diverse profiles, ultimately impacting doctoral training, research and innovation in the country. The results point to the need to implement existing regulations through the unwavering political will of the authorities and regulatory institutions.]]></p></abstract>
