<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2007-24222016000400075&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2007-24222016000400075&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2007-24222016000400075&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen: Este estudio se llevó a cabo con la finalidad de conocer el estado de la calidad del agua subterránea del acuífero sur de Quintana Roo, seguido de intentos por investigar la distribución espacial y temporal de los parámetros fisicoquímicos para identificar las zonas con mejor potencial aptas para consumo humano. Para este propósito se aplicaron en conjunto el índice de calidad del agua (ICA) y los sistemas de información geográfica (SIG). Los datos estudiados corresponden a las temporadas de lluvias de los años 2002 y 2012. Los parámetros fisicoquímicos analizados fueron pH, temperatura (T °), sólidos totales disueltos (SDT), dureza total, sodio (Na+1), sulfatos (SO42-), cloruros (Cl-) y nitratos (NO3-). En la interpretación de los resultados se emplearon estadísticos descriptivos y mapas de distribución espacio-temporal de concentraciones, así como el valor del ICA. Los resultados denotaron condiciones de heterogeneidad espacial en las concentraciones de los iones analizados a través del medio acuífero, debido a la propia geología del lugar; procesos, como la disolución de minerales de rocas carbonatadas, dolomías y evaporitas; mezcla de agua dulce-marina y una posible contaminación antropogénica, principalmente por aguas residuales domésticas y el uso de fertilizantes. Los constituyentes químicos que excedieron el límite permisible de la NOM-127-SSA1-1994 fueron: STD (22% en 2002, y 42% en 2012); dureza total (60%); Na+ (9.8%); Cl- (9.9%), y NO3- (3%, 2012). El ICA demostró que la calidad química del agua subterránea para consumo humano es aceptable para la mayoría de los sitios estudiados.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: This study was conducted in order to know the status of the groundwater quality of the aquifer south of Quintana Roo, followed by attempts to investigate the spatial and temporal distribution of physicochemical parameters to identify to identify places with the best quality for drinking consume within the study area. This goal has been achieved with the combined use of the Water Quality Index (WQI) and a geographical information system (GIS). The analyzed data correspond to the rainy seasons of 2002 and 2012. Physico-chemical parameters analyzed were pH; temperature (T °); total dissolved solids (TDS); total hardness; sodium (Na+); sulfate (SO42-); chlorides (Cl-), and nitrate (NO;). Descriptive statistics and maps of spatiotemporal distribution and ICA were used in the interpretation of the results. The results denoted conditions of spatial heterogeneity of the medium aquifer, due to processes such as mineral dissolution of carbonate rocks, dolomites and evaporates, the mixing of fresh-salt water and possible anthropogenic pollution, mainly by domestic sewage and fertilizer use. The chemical constituents that exceeded the allowable limit of NOM-127-SSA1-1994 were STD (22% in 2002, and 42% in 2012); total hardness (60%); Na+ (9.8%); Cl-(9.9%), and NO; (3%, 2012). The ICA showed that the chemical quality of groundwater for human consumption is acceptable to most of the sites studied.]]></p></abstract>
