A la histopatología con tinción de hematoxilina y eosina se observó exudado rodeado por células inflamatorias y tejido conectivo fibroso. La tinción de Ziehl-Neelsen evidenció la presencia de bacilos rectos o curvos. <body><![CDATA[<p align="justify"><font face="verdana" size="2">&nbsp;</font></p>  	    <p align="justify"><font face="verdana" size="2">Las bacterias &aacute;cido&#45;alcohol resistentes est&aacute;n asociadas a una enfermedad bacteriana contagiosa cr&oacute;nica de las aves domesticas, y en quince &oacute;rdenes de aves silvestres conocida como Micobacteriosis aviar, que puede afectar tambi&eacute;n a seres humanos inmunocompro&#45;metidos<sup>(1)</sup>. La enfermedad se caracteriza por causar emaciaci&oacute;n, anorexia, letargia y muerte en un periodo de pocas semanas hasta meses. La micobacteriosis aviar ha sido reportada en Norteam&eacute;rica, Sudam&eacute;rica, Europa, Rusia, Sureste de Asia y &Aacute;frica<sup>(2,3)</sup>. La mayor&iacute;a de los reportes de la enfermedad corresponden a las aves silvestres en cautiverio. Las especies del bacilo reportadas en aves pertenecen al complejo Mycobacterium avium&#45;intracelullare que comprende al <i>M. avium</i> subespecie <i>avium, M. avium</i> subespecie <i>paratuberculosis, M. avium</i> subespecie <i>silvaticum,</i> y <i>M. intracelullare.</i> Tambi&eacute;n se han reportado en aves otras micobacterias como <i>M. genavense, M. fortuitum, M. tuberculosis, M. gordonae, M. nonchromogenicum, M. celatum,</i> y <i>M.</i> simiae<sup>(4,5,6)</sup>. Sin embargo, la enfermedad en aves acu&aacute;ticas silvestres es espor&aacute;dica y principalmente asociada con <i>M.</i> avium<sup>(7,8)</sup> la cual es frecuente cuando las aves son mantenidas en cautiverio<sup>(9,10,11)</sup>.</font></p>  	    <p align="justify"><font face="verdana" size="2">La conservaci&oacute;n, manejo y sustentabilidad del programa actual de aves acu&aacute;ticas en M&eacute;xico incluye a las lagunas de la regi&oacute;n del golfo de M&eacute;xico, Pac&iacute;fico y del Altiplano norte y centro. Debido a que las lagunas del Altiplano dependen de la limitada precipitaci&oacute;n pluvial, el h&aacute;bitat es limitado para las aves acu&aacute;ticas comparado con las otras regiones. Se ha estimado que hay entre 260,000 a 600,000 aves del orden <i>Anseriforme</i> en el Altiplano norte y centro, de los cuales el 93 % son an&aacute;tidos migratorios que provienen de los Estados Unidos y Canad&aacute; durante la &eacute;poca de invierno<sup>(12)</sup>. La &eacute;poca de cacer&iacute;a durante el invierno corresponde al periodo de noviembre a febrero para algunas de estas especies, y es el periodo donde se lleva a cabo la vigilancia para el virus de influenza aviar e inspecci&oacute;n de los cad&aacute;veres cazados, por parte de la subdirecci&oacute;n de Sanidad de Vida Silvestre de la SEMARNAT.</font></p>  	    <p align="justify"><font face="verdana" size="2">En el presente reporte se describe el hallazgo de lesiones con bacterias &aacute;cido&#45;alcohol resistentes indicativos de micobacteriosis en dos cercetas migratorias colectadas en dos lagunas del Altiplano centro.</font></p>  	    <p align="justify"><font face="verdana" size="2">Las cercetas migratorias son los an&aacute;tidos m&aacute;s abundantes y autorizados para cazar en las lagunas del Altiplano centro durante el periodo de noviembre a febrero. Sin embargo, tambi&eacute;n se pueden observar aves del orden <i>Charadriiforme, Gruiforme</i> y <i>Pelecaniforme.</i> Durante la vigilancia del virus de influenza aviar en an&aacute;tidos migratorios cazados, se realizaron necropsias en forma aleatoria para evaluar el estado corporal. Durante noviembre de 2008 a febrero de 2009 se colectaron 353 cercetas con base a su disponibilidad. Los cad&aacute;veres completos se mantuvieron a 4 &deg;C y se enviaron al Departamento de Medicina y Zootecnia de Aves de la Universidad Nacional Aut&oacute;noma de M&eacute;xico para realizar la necropsia.</font></p>  	    <p align="justify"><font face="verdana" size="2">El 11 de enero de 2009 un macho adulto de la especie <i>Anas discors</i> (Cerceta ala azul) se colect&oacute; de la laguna de San Pedro Tultepec en el ejido con el mismo nombre en el Estado de M&eacute;xico (19&deg; 14' 01.75" N, 99&deg; 29' 06.43" O). La cerceta ten&iacute;a un peso de 360 g considerado normal para la especie. A la necropsia se observ&oacute; emaciaci&oacute;n; en el par&eacute;nquima hep&aacute;tico, y en la serosa del intestino delgado se apreciaron m&uacute;ltiples n&oacute;dulos de ~0.1 a 0.4 cm de di&aacute;metro aproximadamente. Los n&oacute;dulos eran firmes al tacto con bordes bien delimitados y al corte conten&iacute;an moderada cantidad de exudado caseoso (<a href="#f1">Figura 1</a>). El 24 de febrero de 2009 una hembra de la especie <i>Anas cyanoptera</i> (Cerceta canela) se colect&oacute; de la laguna de Atlangatepec, correspondiente al municipio del mismo nombre en el estado de Tlaxcala (19&deg; 33' 35.31" N, 98&deg; 10' 58.09" O) y a una distancia de ~140 km de la laguna de San Pedro Tultepec. La cerceta ten&iacute;a un peso de 390 g considerado normal para la especie. En la necropsia, se observ&oacute; emaciaci&oacute;n, y varios n&oacute;dulos de ~0.1 a 0.3 cm en el par&eacute;nquima hep&aacute;tico. Los n&oacute;dulos eran firmes al tacto con bordes bien delimitados y con exudado caseoso en su interior.</font></p>  	    <p align="center"><font face="verdana" size="2"><a name="f1"></a></font></p>  	    <p align="center"><font face="verdana" size="2"><img src="/img/revistas/rmcp/v4n3/a10f1.jpg"></font></p>  	    <p align="justify"><font face="verdana" size="2">Muestras de h&iacute;gado e intestino de cada cerceta se fijaron en formalina amortiguada al 10% durante 24 h, embebidas en parafina y te&ntilde;idas con hematoxilina y eosina (H&amp;E), y Ziehl&#45;Neelsen (ZN)<sup>(13)</sup>. Microsc&oacute;picamente los n&oacute;dulos estaban compuestos por lesiones de tipo tuberculoide caracterizadas por zonas de necrosis caseosa rodeada y delimitada por agregados moderados de c&eacute;lulas inflamatorias que se disponen en varias capas, la primera capa compuesta de c&eacute;lulas gigantes m ul tinucl eadas, la segunda capa por macr&oacute;fagos y c&eacute;lulas epiteloides, y la tercera capa por linfocitos y escasas c&eacute;lulas plasm&aacute;ticas, todo esto encapsulado por moderada cantidad de tejido conectivo fibroso. Con la tinci&oacute;n especial de Ziehl&#45;Neelsen se observ&oacute; abundante cantidad de bacilos &aacute;cido alcohol resistentes, delgados, rectos a curvos, cortos, que midieron entre 1 a 4 um de largo, no ramificados, dispuestos al centro y a la periferia de las zonas de necrosis caseosa; as&iacute; mismo se apreciaron escasos bacilos en el interior del citoplasma de las c&eacute;lulas gigantes multinucleadas (<a href="/img/revistas/rmcp/v4n3/a10f2.jpg" target="_blank">Figura 2</a>).</font></p>  	    <p align="justify"><font face="verdana" size="2">Los hallazgos macrosc&oacute;picos y microsc&oacute;picos observados en ambas cercetas se asocian a una infecci&oacute;n por micobacterias que concuerda con lo descrito en la literatura<sup>(3,14&#45;18)</sup>. En las aves de ornato y compa&ntilde;&iacute;a los cambios morfol&oacute;gicos por micobacterias habitualmente inducen lesiones no tuberculoides, caracterizadas por zonas multifocales de necrosis, y grandes agregados de macr&oacute;fagos, c&eacute;lulas gigantes m&uacute;ltinucleadas que infiltran los &oacute;rganos afectados, y generalmente se asocian a <i>Micobacterium</i> genavense<sup>(19,20)</sup>.</font></p>  	    ]]></body>
<body><![CDATA[<p align="justify"><font face="verdana" size="2">Este estudio muestra las lesiones y presencia de bacterias &aacute;cido alcohol resistente caracter&iacute;sticas de micobacteriosis en dos especies diferentes de cercetas migratorias durante su etapa invernal en M&eacute;xico.
