<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2007-09342025000100401&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2007-09342025000100401&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2007-09342025000100401&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen La variedad de sorgo VCS-Fuego fue desarrollado en el Campo Experimental Valle de Culiacán (CEVACU) del Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Forestales, Agrícolas y Pecuarias (INIFAP) y registrada con el número definitivo SOG-317-240521, en el Catálogo Nacional de Variedades Vegetales (CNVV) del Servicio Nacional de Inspección y Certificación de Semillas (SNICS) y título de obtentor número 2968 a favor del INIFAP. El desarrollo se llevó a cabo durante los años 2009 a 2017, en el estado de Sinaloa, donde se siembran predominantemente híbridos o variedades comerciales susceptibles a enfermedades y al acame de plantas. VCS-Fuego es una variedad de ciclo vegetativo intermedio, de grano ámbar, se recomienda para condiciones de riego y temporal. El rendimiento promedio de la variedad es de 3.95 t ha-1 de grano y 35 t ha-1 de forraje verde. VCS-Fuego tiene buena calidad bromatológica en el forraje, con 6.72% de proteína y 79.07% de digestibilidad, presenta un tamaño de grano de 5.03, 4.09 y 3.02 mm de largo, ancho y grosor y una composición química de proteínas, lípidos y carbohidratos de 14.78, 3.62, y 80.03%, respectivamente; por lo que se propone a VCS-Fuego como una variedad potencialmente para ser cultivada en el estado de Sinaloa.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The VCS-Fuego sorghum variety was developed at the Valle de Culiacán Experimental Field (CEVACU) of the National Institute of Forestry, Agricultural, and Livestock Research (INIFAP) and registered with the definitive number SOG-317-240521 in the National Catalog of Plant Varieties (CNVV) of the National Seed Inspection and Certification Service (SNICS) and breeder&#8217;s title number 2968 in favor of INIFAP. It was developed from 2009 to 2017 in the state of Sinaloa, where hybrids or commercial varieties susceptible to diseases and plant lodging are predominantly sown. VCS-Fuego is a variety with an intermediate vegetative cycle, with amber grains; it is recommended for irrigated and rainfed conditions. The average yield of the variety is 3.95 t ha-1 of grain and 35 t ha-1 of fresh forage. VCS-Fuego has good bromatological quality in forage, with 6.72% protein and 79.07% digestibility, has a grain size of 5.03, 4.09, and 3.02 mm in length, width and thickness, and a chemical composition of proteins, lipids, and carbohydrates of 14.78, 3.62, and 80.03%, respectively; therefore, VCS-Fuego is proposed as a potential variety to be grown in the state of Sinaloa.]]></p></abstract>
