Se necesita una compresión amplia sobre la anatomía, cambios fisiológicos después de administrar el anestésico local y farmacología de éste. Los anestésicos locales tienen una impresionante historia de eficacia y seguridad, su uso es rutinario debido a que los efectos adversos son infrecuentes. Los coadyuvantes intratecales se combinan con anestésicos locales para potenciar el bloqueo y prolongar la analgesia, además de reducir la dosis del anestésico local, permitiendo una pronta recuperación motora y un alta más rápida. De ellos, pueden usarse opioides, alfa agonistas, entre otros, con diferentes efectos, mismos que son el objeto de esta revisión.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: Neuraxial blocks are anesthetic techniques that have increased in popularity in recent years due to their acceptance and the adoption of ultrasound-guided techniques, improving their success rates and reducing the incidence of complications. A broad understanding of the anatomy and physiologic changes after administration of the local anesthetic and the pharmacology of the local anesthetic are needed. Local anesthetics have an impressive history of efficacy and safety; their use is routine because adverse effects are rare. Intrathecal adjuvants are combined with local anesthetics to potentiate the block and prolong analgesia, in addition to reducing the local anesthetic dose, allowing rapid motor recovery and quicker discharge. Within which opioids, alpha agonists, among others with different effects, can be used. Which is the subject of this review.]]></p></abstract>
