<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S1870-72032024000100034&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S1870-72032024000100034&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S1870-72032024000100034&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen:  Introducción:  en la actualidad existen diversos bloqueadores neuromusculares para la intubación; uno de ellos, la succinilcolina que, si bien tiene rápido inicio de acción, sus efectos adversos han favorecido el uso de otros bloqueadores neuromusculares (BNM) como el rocuronio. Las opciones actuales para minimizar los tiempos para la intubación incluyen el uso de cebamiento con rocuronio.  Material y métodos:  se estudiaron 50 pacientes bajo anestesia general para cirugía ortopédica o abdominal en el Hospital Angeles Pedregal. Fueron aleatorizados en dos grupos (experimental y control). Al grupo control se les administró una dosis de inducción de secuencia rápida de rocuronio y al grupo experimental una dosis de cebamiento. Se midió el tiempo para TOF (monitoreo del tren de cuatro) de 0 y la recuperación del BNM. Se realizó estadística descriptiva mediante frecuencias y porcentajes para variables nominales y medidas de tendencia central para variables cuantitativas, dependiendo de la distribución de los datos. La comparación entre grupos fue mediante &#967;2 y t de Student o U de Mann-Whitney.  Resultados:  ambos grupos fueron homogéneos para las variables epidemiológicas. Al comparar al grupo experimental contra el grupo control el tiempo en lograr el TOF de 0 fue mayor en el grupo experimental (123 vs 96 segundos, p = 0.030). Por otro lado, la reversión farmacológica con sugammadex se observó con la misma frecuencia en ambos grupos.  Conclusión:  en este ensayo concluimos que el tiempo para llegar a TOF de 0 fue mayor para el grupo con cebamiento. Sin embargo, es importante mencionar que el tiempo necesario para TOF de 0 con dosis de 0.6 mg/kg sin cebamiento llega hasta cuatro minutos; mientras que en el estudio observamos que al realizar cebamiento con dosis de 0.6 mg/kg se puede reducir a 123 segundos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract:  Introduction:  there are currently various neuromuscular blockers for intubation; one of them, succinylcholine, which, although it has a rapid onset of action, its adverse effects have favored the use of other NMBs such as rocuronium. Current options to minimize intubation times include the use of priming or priming.  Material and methods:  fifty patients under general anesthesia for orthopedic or abdominal surgery at Hospital Angeles Pedregal were studied. They were randomized into two groups (experimental and control). The control group received a rapid sequence induction dose of rocuronium and the experimental group a priming dose. Time to TOF of 0 and NMB recovery were measured. Descriptive statistics were performed using frequencies and percentages for nominal variables and measures of central tendency for quantitative variables depending on the distribution of the data. The comparison between groups was using &#967;2 and Student&#8217;s t or Mann-Whitney U.  Results:  both groups were homogeneous for the epidemiological variables. When comparing the experimental group against the control group, the time to achieve the TOF of 0 was greater in the experimental group (123 vs 96 seconds, p = 0.030). On the other hand, pharmacological reversal with sugammadex was observed with the same frequency in both groups.  Conclusions:  in this trial, we concluded that the time to reach TOF of 0 was longer for the priming group. However, it is important to mention that the time needed for TOF of 0 with doses of 0.6 mg/kg without priming reaches up to four minutes; while in the study we observed that when priming with a dose of 0.6 mg/kg it can be reduced to 123 seconds.]]></p></abstract>
