Calcium chloride along with one drop of concentrated HCl is a facile and efficient catalyst for the synthesis of aryl 14H-dibenzo[a,j] xanthene derivatives via one-pot condensation of various substituted benzaldehydes and &#946;-naphthol under microwave and solvent-free conditions. The advantages offered by the present protocol include shorter reaction time, good-to-excellent yields, operational simplicity, cost-effectiveness, and easily available catalysts.]]></p></abstract>

El cloruro cálcico con una gota de HCl concentrado es un catalizador simple y eficiente para la síntesis de derivados arílicos de 14H-dibenzo[a,j] xanteno via condensación en un solo matraz de varios aldehídos sustituídos y &#946;-naftol bajo radiación de microondas y libre de disolventes. Las ventajas del método son tiempos de reacción cortos, rendimientos de buenos a excelentes, simplicidad operacional, rentabilidad y catalizadores facilmente disponibles.]]></p></abstract>
