Estas acciones comúnmente son adaptadas por las empresas al contexto local en el que operan. A través de la teoría institucional se explora la adaptación de la responsabilidad social empresarial de diez compañías estadounidenses en México con base en el análisis del contenido de sus informes de responsabilidad social. La responsabilidad social empresarial de estas compañías presenta una institucionalización positiva con respecto del enfoque tradicional filantrópico y de asistencia, institucionalización ambigua acerca del apoyo a mipymes y seguridad de los empleados, mientras que temas como la libertad de asociación y los derechos humanos están exentos de institucionalización, es decir, presentan institucionalización negativa.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: Corporate social responsibility consists in the social actions of the company towards its stakeholders. The companies frequently adapt these activities to the local context where they operate. Through institutional theory, this exploratory paper analyzes the adaptation of corporate social responsibility of 10 American companies in Mexico based on content analysis of their social responsibility reports. It was found that corporate social responsibility in these companies exposes positive institutionalization about the Mexican corporate social responsibility philanthropic approach, ambiguous institutionalization about support to small companies and employees security, while topics like freedom of association and human rights are negatively institutionalized, that means, are infrequent in Corporate Social Responsibility, consistently with the Mexican environment.]]></p></abstract>
