</abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en">
Abstract Several works indicate that the technological innovation dynamics has grown exponentially during the last fifty years, apparently driven by the substantially continuous advances in the information technology (IT). The low cost in formation availability in any place, and in any moment, has propitiated the identification of the actual society as the “information society”, which in turn has been trans formed to the “knowledge society”. This will may be the most important and major impacting phenome non in the following decades. In this work, we present preliminary results of an IT evolutionary study, supporting the fact that they gave origin and actually support the economic globalisation process. In such a way, it seems very probably that the continuous advancement of three fundamental information technology types, semiconductor devices (S), Computer Systems (C), and Communication protocols (P), with their different impacts will definitively trans form human being life, its organizations and societies. Finally, the problem of the need of an adaptation system for adequate individual and collective response in front of the dynamic changes is ad dressed.
</abstract>
