<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S1405-27682025000200411&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S1405-27682025000200411&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S1405-27682025000200411&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo investigar y documentar el conocimiento tradicional sobre el uso de las plantas medicinales, con énfasis en los usos y propiedades del toronjil (Agastache mexicana subsp. mexicana) en tres localidades de la Sierra del municipio de Taxco de Alarcón, Guerrero, México, contribuyendo con el rescate y la conservación de los saberes ancestrales. Para la obtención de información se aplicaron cuestionarios semiestructurados a personas mayores de 18 años y se aplicó la prueba &#43859;² (chi cuadrado) para analizar las relaciones entre las variables. En los resultados se identificaron 52 especies de plantas medicinales agrupadas en 26 familias botánicas. La familia que más sobresale es Lamiaceae con (12 especies), seguida de Asteraceae (7 especies). Las enfermedades tratadas con plantas medicinales de acuerdo con el Índice de Consenso de Informantes fueron enfermedades del sistema gastrointestinal, con 250 reportes de uso, 33 especies y el FCI fue de 0.87, siendo el más alto. En segundo lugar, para los problemas respiratorios y osteomusculares con 112 reportes de uso, 21 especies y un FCI de 0.82. Las plantas utilizadas provienen sobre todo del medio silvestre (56%) y en menor medida (44%) son cultivadas. Respecto al Agastache mexicana subsp. mexicana, las tres localidades conocen, usan y lo tienen en casa. Sus principales usos son para contrarrestar: dolor de estómago y cólicos, problemas respiratorios, nervios y finalmente problemas de filiación cultural conocido como susto. La forma de consumo de las plantas medicinales es mediante decocción utilizando mayormente las hojas. Además, el 90% de los entrevistados mostró interés en preservar las plantas medicinales mediante su cultivo en huertos familiares, promoviendo un manejo sostenible para evitar la disminución de las especies. En las tres localidades de estudio, las plantas medicinales son muy importantes no solo porque ayudan a curar enfermedades, sino también porque forman parte de la cultura y tradiciones de estas comunidades.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The present study aimed to investigate and document traditional knowledge on the use of medicinal plants, with an emphasis on the uses and properties of lemon balm (Agastache mexicana subsp. mexicana) in three localities in the mountains of the municipality of Taxco de Alarcón, Guerrero, Mexico, contributing to the rescue and conservation of ancestral knowledge. To obtain information, semi-structured questionnaires were administered to people over 18 years of age, and the &#43859;² (chi-square) test was applied to analyze the relationships between variables. The results identified 52 species of medicinal plants grouped into 26 botanical families. The most outstanding family is Lamiaceae with 12 species, followed by Asteraceae (7 species). The diseases treated with medicinal plants according to the Informant Consensus Index were diseases of the gastrointestinal system, with 250 reports of use, 33 species, and the FCI was 0.87, being the highest. Second, for respiratory and musculoskeletal problems, with 112 reports of use, 21 species, and an FCI of 0.82. The plants used come primarily from the wild (56%) and, to a lesser extent (44%), are cultivated. Regarding Agastache mexicana subsp. mexicana, all three localities know, use, and have it at home. Its main uses are to counteract stomach pain and colic, respiratory problems, nerves, and finally, a culturally related problem known as susto (susto). Medicinal plants are consumed through decoction, mostly using the leaves. Furthermore, 90% of those interviewed expressed interest in preserving medicinal plants by growing them in home gardens, promoting sustainable management to prevent species decline.
